Cats - June 2006

I have 2 litter boxes for her that shouldn't get too dirty while I'm gone. I was thinking about leaving plenty of food and water around the house, but I'm not sure if there is anything else I should worry about.

my cat had kittens about 9 weeks ago, and i'm having a hard time finding anyone to adopt them. i can't keep them, but i hesitate to take them to a shelter or put out a "free kittens!" ad, since god only knows who'll end up with them. i want them to be safe and sound and happy.

I have a female cat who had 3 kittens. One died two days after birth but the other two were healthy kittens. She eats healthy on a regular basis and has no cause for hunger, but now the kittens are missing and there is no possible way for them to have ran away and no way that anyone would steal them. Is it possible that she ate them and if so wouldn't there be a huge mess?

My friend is giving away free white kittens. I got one, but i have no clue what to name it. It is white. It came from a litter of 4. The mother is white and the father is gray. All of the kittens came out white. I need help!!!

I have been reading the answers on here about cat spray and nothing is working. I have 4 fixed male cats from 2 years to 9 years old. They have started spraying since I moved to my new (old) house a year ago. WE have numerous stray cats outside. I have tried to block there view, put up a 6 foot stockade fence...used natures miracle, indoor no, no go, feliway, etc... put moth balls around whole house and windows outside, put pepper around my windows and doors. Used a hose on the strays, and shake a jar of coins loudly at mine and the strays when I catch them spraying. NOTHING WORKS. The strays keep coming around and my cats keep spraying. Last night one even sprayed near his food dish HELP!!!!!!!!

My tonkanese boy sits at the window and seems to be making bird calls when there are birds in the lawn. I can only guess he’s trying to fool the birds so that he can kill them. I've heard that Siamese and Tonkanese are very vocal, but … Is this possible???

My friend's male cat, jake, always takes her twin sisters pairs of socks, from all the way upstairs and brings them down. They he just starts howling. No one know why he does it. I was just curious. He doesn't make any noise any other time. He hardly meows. Please let me know so I can tell my friend.

I had adopted this cat named Leroy. His previous owner abused him, and to make things worse, he don't come out of hiding to eat. He is so skinny, but I just adopted a puppy, and Leroy is eatting A LOT of the puppy's food. Should I yell at him and tell him to stop?? He's finally eatting, dog food...

I just returned from a long trip and left him home with someone checking on him, feeding, watering, litter box, daily. He did not do well. Relatives all allergic to him and can't take him in. I simply will not leave him in a kennel. Should he have tranquilizers? He is a very gentle, loving cat who scares easily (hides during storms), neutered male. Will a leash work on a cat? I will be in the Rockies. Help me, please, it is a case of my man or my cat! Have to take this trip.

my cat will never leave me alone...she collects hairties from around the house and brings them 2 me so ill throw them so she can fetch them and she gets all the hairties and puts them in her water bowl and in the toilet...and when she goes 2 sleep she sucks her thumb and shes a full grown cat...what is wrong with her?

ok first the cat was a stray given to me by my aunt. one of her neighbors put it out on the street when they moved. i couldnt resist it because he is sooo cute. i wouldnt say that he is an adult cat yet i think he is about 8 months old or so. he is off white with tan edges i figured that i'll get him his shots, get him fixed and the whole nine yards. ok the concern im having is that i find myself cleaning out the litter box like every day. which is caused by his excessive bowel movements. i stopped giving him wet food but realized that he was doing this even before i gave it to him. i don't give him milk and i don't give him table food. what could be cauisng him to do this? usually the amount he does is about the size of the palm of an average sized ladies hand with it being light brown in color and very liquidy. i thought cat feces was supposed to be solid. sorry for being so graphic but this is the way it is. also helooks as though he is not gaining any weight becuae of this. help!
