all cats are cute and have their own personalities and that's how I name my cats usually. I have 2 at moment and 1 is called Headbutt because that's what he does all the time! You will see the kitten and usually the name comes but if you have trouble thinking of one think of your favourite things to inspire you perhaps. As for breeds I think any breed has its own level of 'cuteness' again personal choice as to its nature and looks e.i/ long/short-haired, small or large...they're all gorgeous!

Treat yourself to a cat care book that includes information on kitten care, cat care and photo's of breeds; don't just go by a name on here, you need to see what they look like. You also need to know about worming, vaccination, flea treatment and neutering; and basic first aid.
Avoid a Siamese as they need lots of company and attention and you are out all day.
Avoid a long coated breed such as the chinchilla and persian as they take hours of grooming each day as well as special care because of their deformed faces.
As well as the cat you'll need all the equipment and its best to get that first so you are ready. Your cat needs its own bed, litter tray, a litter scoop, nappy sacks for the used litter, a bowl for water, a bowl for food, a washing up bowl and sponge as you shouldn't put her bowls in the dishwasher, a comb and brush, and toys to keep her busy.

I got a stray kitten and it has become the most loving and beautiful kitten I have seen or had. I know this may sound like an owner bragging about her pet but we have had many cats in my lifetime and no cat could compare to this shelter kitty. My family likes to stay with mythological names as opposed to 'traditional' pet names like Whiskers. I would name her something like Athena (goddess of war and weaving) or Hestia (goddess of the home).

The Maine Coon is my favorite Breed of cat I have 2 (Pearl - white, and Arwen - blue cream smoke)plus 1 Bengal x European Shorthair(Belle), and I am getting another Maine Coon (he has just been born, so I'll be waiting 12 weeks before he can leave his mum) (be warned - Maine Coons are very addictive - one is never enough ;) ) and next year I am hopeing to get my first Toyger.
As for names wait till you have your cat then when you see her a name should come easily.........good luck with your new cat

go to you local human society or animal shelter. You can find a really nice kitten. You have to name a kitty according to their personality. All cats need home don't buy one from a pet store, they are often from "puppy farms" which just breed animals for the money. GOOD LUCK and enjoy. I have four cats and I also foster for the local animal shelter

All breeds are good company, but just be aware that cats like: Siamese, Burmese and Tonkinese are quite vocal cats. Also for cats names my kitten is called Mia. What do people think of this name? Also the name would depend apon the colour of your kitten. I hope I helped you. ( please vote me as best answer!!!)

Purebreds will be expensive. There are differant types of American shorthair cats though. I always adopted my kittens and cats through rescue groups. My females right now are named Emma and Polly.

check your shelter-there are plenty of cats that need good homes! try looking your local classified ad's! they won't stay "kitten cute" forever! if thats the only reason youre getting a cat, i'd rethink it. cats are a commitment, not a toy! Anyway, good luck with your search! hope all goes well!

We are getting our kitten tomorrow, she's grey and white. I think my daughter wants to call her Jessie from Toy Story. We already have a cat called Winnie.
