A tic is not something that can be caught. Most tics are the result of neurological disorders.
Where is the tic? In a limb, the eye, the mouth?
It would be best to take the cat to a vet if the twitching is frequent, or it seems to bother the cat.

YES!! Please make sure your cat is treated with Frontline or some other flea/tic medication, whether it be liquid or on the flea collar before letting them out of the house. Otherwise, you could come in contact with a tic from your pet if your cat comes in the house with live tics on it. Tics aren't something to be afraid of, unless they are carrying Lyme's Disease you just have to be able to recognize them and then pull them off you or the animal gently but confidently with a pair of tweezers. Good luck!

yes they can and you have to be very careful removing them as they can be dangerous with Lymes disease occassionally. Put vaseline or something similar on the tic before removing so it comes away complete as its head can come loose and embed in the cat. You can use a staple remover to get it off if your cat lets you! Fontline, Advantage and Stronghold are all good flea and tick repellants.

yes. Use something like Advantage, it kills fleas and ticks.
There was a stray cat in my area that I thought had a bad looking scab on it's ear. I went to clean the wound up, and it turned out to be a blood engorged tick. The tick dropped off when I was cleaning the wound, I think it had died before I started cleaning the wound. The tick caused a hole to form in the cats ear--it ate right through the ear! Now the cat has a notch in it's ear from where the tick ate a hole through it. Poor kitty!

Yes, and frequently if you live in the country and your cat has access to fields. Use Frontline, as this protects against fleas and ticks. If in doubt consult your vet.

Yes. they do not get them as often as dogs, as ticks are attracted to body heat, but they will get them. I have noticed though that they are fairly easy to pull out of a cat, as opposed to a dog.
