I want to adopt a cat from the humane society. I know that everyone wants a kitten, but I want a full grown cat.
How can I convince my mom that adopting a full grown cat is better? Benefits?

For 2 yrs my rental promised me screens but never brought them. I had used the window for my indoor-outdoor cat to come and go, so I didn't have to open the door all the time. Then out of the blue last winter they showed up with screens. Well within one day that screen had a hole in the corner of it. My cat had kept her door there. I bought a new one and shut the window. when she was outside she tried to get in and tore a hole. I don't want to replace agian untill I have a plan of action to prevent the tearing of a third. Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent her from ripping the screen? Thanks to anyone who can help.

I had an empty box, and kept her away from the other cats. Left her in a room, but she won't use the empty box. She will hold it. I NEED a urine sample to find out why she's having trouble going to the bathroom.

I ask this because I used to have two friends who my cat HATED. She would cower in the corner and hiss and spit whenever they were over at my house, regardless of if they came near her. She wasn't much of a people cat, but she didn't act this way around any of my other friends. Neither of these two people are my friend anymore. Was this my cat's way of saying, neither of these people are a good fit in my owner's life?

Has this ever happened with anyone else?

My cat- his name "Stinkynutz". He's really smart.

Okay- for example, if I shut the bedroom door to my parents room, he jumps up, and uses his paws to try to grapple the door knob and turn it, to open the doh! He he he.

He HATES closed doors- has Kitty Cat Style Claustrophobia or some sh**.

Anywho, isn't Stinkynutz adorable and smart? : )

I live in NYC and recently my upstairs neighbor expired and rotted through my kitchen ceiling. Before I could get it sanitized, my tabby got into the mess and now is ignoring his kibble. The good news is he's put on weight, but now is territorial about the "area".

Any help is great, thanks!

p.s. his pelt has also improved.

Tell me your cat stories - love them or hate them? Has a cat changed your life? Were you a cat in another life?

Here are the details:
I have two cats, a boy and a girl. Both are fixed. The boy is the problem pee monster. I've taken him to the doctor, and he doesn't have a urinary tract infection. I've tried putting as many as four seperate litter boxes around my apartment, which did not help.
I crazy clean every place that he pees, it still doesn't help. I'm fairly certain that he's not marking territory either.
The problem seems to be that he doesn't like peeing in the litterbox. He'll poop there, just not pee.
Right now, he's a fan of the kitchen tile. Last week, it was the bathtub, (which, while gross, is a hell of a lot easier to clean up!)
Before that, it was the closet floor, right next to the litterbox. It's obviously a surface preference thing... But I can't stand it! It's been like this since he was a baby, and I feel like I've tried everything, but I can't give up on him! Please help me, I can't stand having an apartment that smells like cat pee.

Don't the outdoor variety seem much more sane? Don't cats need the stimulation of the outside world? Indoor cats seem lazy and pathetic.

Okay... So I'm the proud great-grandmother to a litter of adorable 8(ish) week old kittens... I broughtlittle Brynn out of the barn and home with me. Her left eye is all gunky. My fiancee said it was hay fever, but now that she's out of the hay, it's not going away (Although I haven't bathed her and she still smells like hay... we did wash her face though)...

Any ideas how to clean it up/get rid of it?
And is it really hay fever?
