"Going into heat" is also known as "estrus". Cats are seasonally polyestrous which means they will go into heat multiple times a season until they mate. Mating season usually starts a few months after winter and usually ends in the fall. Estrus periods increase as daylight hours increase (in the Spring & Summer in the Northern Hemisphere). Indoor cats who are only exposed to artificial lighting may stay in season year round! Estrus itself will last 4 - 10 days and will cycle (about every 2 to 3 weeks) until the female mates, is spayed, or goes out of season. A cat can continue to reproduce until around the age of 12.

As a general rule, unless you are a breeder, it is best to always spay or neuter your pet for many medical and behavioral reasons. One female cat and her offspring can produce over 400,000 cats in just seven years. Spaying your pet will ensure that your pet will not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem and help millions of already homeless cats find homes.

When a female cat is spayed her ovaries and uterus(reproductive organs) will be removed. Usually she can be spayed after 6 months of age or in-between heats. Spaying a female cat will reduce her risk of uterine infections and breast and other types of gynecological cancers.

the mum cat will be in and out of warm temperature continuously till eventually she's bred, I had one which began cycling like that and only did not provide up all summer, so she were given fastened (replaced into indoor, no different cats round). Cats who're doing this commence to spray too, and females spraying are going to be quite stinky, oily spray that's maximum confusing to get out of furniture fabrics. Your vet has a hormone shot that would carry her out of warm temperature, yet she'll finally bypass top back into it, so i'd say only take her and the kitten in and characteristic both executed asap. The kitten replaced into able to be spayed at 4 months of age, so she's intense time waiting for this. No, the howling received't bypass down. that is her hormone aspect that makes her howl, no longer the mating act.

You should get your cat spayed. They length of the heat will vary between all cats but she will go in and out of heat every 2 weeks or so.

My only comment is, take her to a vet immediately and have her "fixed." There are enough unwanted cats around. Otherwise for three times a year you will find the fun of her cycle.

Just fix the cat. Mine was like that 2 years ago. And it made me mad. If you wanna calm her for a couple of hours, wet her with cold water.
