Maine Coons are indeed beautiful cats, and they get quite large. At One year your Baby is 13# and is going to get bigger as he gets towards two. I agree with trying www.petfinder.com(org?) and finding Maine coons who need rescuing. The kittens can be very expensive and I agree that there are adults or half-growns who need a good home first....although who can resist those little faces??? My first cat (as an adult) was a Maine Coon and she was a beauty! Talk about an Empress! Enjoy your cats. They are marvelous.

You have to contact a breeder for that information. Serious breeders don't usually list prices online. If you want to sell your "Maine Coon" you'll need proof of it's pedigree.
The price of a Maine Coon cat or kitten varies widely from breeder to breeder. Depending on the area that you are looking in you can find kittens anywhere from $400 to $750 and sometimes more if the kitten is show quality. The lower cost kittens can be found if a breeder is trying to place a kitten that has some known health or temperament problem. Please be aware that there are people also selling "Maine Coons" of questionable heritage for quite a bit less than most reputable breeders can afford to sell their kittens. Make sure that the kitten you are buying has been registered with one of the major registering organizations and that the breeder is willing to give you papers for your kitten. There is a great deal of cost that goes into raising and showing purebred cats which is why the price seems so high. Older spayed animals go from 150 to 250.

Purebred Maine Coons can be $600-1200. You might want to check with your local shelter & rescue groups. There may be a Maine Coon waiting for a new home right now.

Look at petfinder.org for one to adopt. As babies they are quite expensive - but if you adopt one then you will be saving a life as well as spending less...
