All carnivores like the smell of something rotting. Earwax is full of bacteria and so it has that "smell". Try rubbing a Q-Tip between your little toe and it's neighbor til it smells like stinky feet. Your cat will go crazy and try to eat the end off the Q-Tip! Same reason he likes her worn bra or curling up on and in my recently removed loafers when I come home from wearing them.

they like ear wax, or do you mean, they have ear wax, if so its because they have ear mites, take a black cloth and rub it in there ear and you can see them moving on the cloth, I think we have them as well, but our ears are open to air, and theres have cannels

What do he like to do with it?
My cat loves my used bra and if I put it on the floor for him,
he rubs his head on it and rolls on it where the armpit area is, and then falls asleep with his nose on it.
