I am looking for a smaller dog that does not shed too much, and that is not very hyper. I thinking about a pug but do not know much about them.

I REALLY want a chihuahua for christmas. I'm 13 and I think I could handle it. I have a lizard which i take mediocre care of.. but to my credit it just sits there all day. I wrote a letter to my parents, I begged, and I don't know how to convince them. Does anyone own a chihuahua or have any ideas?

I've heard that there are feeding dishes available for cats that have a timer and a lid or cover. The dish can be set at certain intervals so that the cover opens up at various times of the day allowing your pet to eat whilst you're out or at work. Where can I get one of these dishes or did I dream them up?..... I've tried ebay but had no joy.

I Always feed my kitties before i eat. Straight after they have ate they come to me and just sit there until i give them some of my food! I usually cave in and give them a tiny bit but i never give them anything that is harmful to them. What should i do?

I probably already know the answer to this, but I want to know what can I do to keep my cat living longer?

He is about 3 years old or so, and is an indoor cat. And he is massive, probably one of the bigger domestic cats you'll see. We have another cat that is just a tad over weight according to the vet, but not much. They do play with eachother and chase eachother so there is some exercise there, and we have tried to cut their food down but I havent seen much of a difference. I'm just wondering is there more we can do.

Also, our fat cat had an infected urinary problem so he has to eat special food, and our other cat has a super sensitive stomach, so she also needs special food. =P

Any advice would be great!

This is my 19month old Chihuahua, do you think she's cute? I think she's adorable, and knowing her personality makes her even cuter, but when people see her out in public, most say she's so ugly she's cute, what makes her ugly? I don't see it.

I have had this schnauzer for several years, and it is quite territorial. I was thinking of getting a cat, but I am unsure weather this dog will be okay with it. Any suggestions?

Isn't a designer breed just a mixed breed? You can't breed a labradoodle to a labradoodle and get a labradoodle. What's a "doodle" anyway? Wouldn't it be a labrapoo or a poobrador? There are so many "designer" dogs in the shelters already: the Shollie (shepherd/collie), the pitlab, the sheppy (shepherd/husky), I'm still waiting for the Bulldog/ShihTzu mix! Why do people insist on spending $900 for a mixed breed dog? Go adopt one!

Hi all I am curious as to how people can afford to have dogs if so many people tell them they CANT work a full time job and raise a puppy. I work full time and have two puppies and if I didn't work full time I wouldn't be able to afford them! My puppies 22 week old Aussie mix, and a 12 week old lab mix are both trained and neither are destructive. They love to have eachother and even when I am home they never leave each others side. I want to know what the big deal is as to why so many people on here put down others who work a full time job and raise animals. How else are they supposed to make a living? Have any of you thought that maybe these dogs lives were saved because people took them in from a shelter that would eventually kill them? To all you people who work and properly raise animals I praise you! And if anyone says you can't work and have puppies than those people obviously need a job other than sitting on here all day.

I've been home sick in bed all week with a bad head cold. My dog won't leave my side and lays in the bed and couch with me. Even when I get up she follows me and stays right by my side. Does my dog know I'm sick and that is why she won't leave me alone? I want to belive that she senses Mommy is sick and is trying to comfort, but my guess is that she's feeling insecure because things aren't "normal". Also, can she catch my cold? I don't think dogs can catch human colds.

3 days ago i took her temp. and it was 99 today i took her temp and it was 97-98. Whats the deal? I thought if they where below 100 they will be giving birth in the next 24 hours. That night I stayed up all night to see if she was going to deliver. LOL...anyways, can it also be the thermomter? I bought it at walmart for $4 dollars only. O yea, if your going to tell me that I shouldnt be breeding dog, go somewhere else! I dont need your negative comments. I did my homework on breeding dogs.

I have a booldhound. He is having problems with his skin.He started to itch really bad.We took him to our vet twice already. He got a shot(vetalog?), it did help for a week, then he started to itch again. We took him again and he got another shot and also pills(cephalexin?).This shot help again, but just for a week.Pills didnt help. The vet said it could be fleas allergies. But he doesnt have any fleas and I give him Advantix monthly sometimes even more often.I used med shampoo from fleas. Its not a food allergy because he's been on this food for 2 years. Now he has open sores all over his body.Thats what makes me worried. They just appear on his body and than he starts to itch them. You can tell that it bother him because when you touch thouse sores it makes him to itch more.We got 2 different opinions from vet, they both dont really know what to do.They said we can take him to dermatologiest but its going to be very expensive and they are now sure if it will help him. Please, help.....

I have a 7 mo. old English Bulldog. He is the sweetest puppy ever. Until the past month. We have had to have the cable company come out 6 times in 2 weeks to reattach the cable cord to the outside of our home. The bathroom cabinets have been torn apart (where his water and food are), and our guest bedroom has been shredded (he pulled a hodini and escaped from his metal kennel that was in this room). He is shown so much attention, we walk him daily for 1-2 miles and he has tons of chew toys! Im about at my ends. What else can i do?!
