Really, it depends on what species. "Mud Skipper" is a name given to a general group of similar fish that require brackish water (though they spend most of their time on moist land). Though they do have lungs, they still need to be kept fairly wet to prevent from drying out... There are species that range from about 5 inches as adults to almost a foot, so the species is VERY important. Since they are so well developed to land environments, they ABSOLUTELY need a large portion of the tank to be land, and the rest to be brackish water. They are fairly aggressive amongst themselves, but this is not dangerous unless their tank is too small... Since they are such great jumpers (with "skips" more than a foot in length), they should really have at least a 4 foot tank.... Contact me if you have any questions.

if you thinking of keeping one they need a large tank the giant mud skippers grow to 11 inches they at least need a 50 gallon tank and should be kept as one male to one female

They grow to be about 6 inches (15cm). I wouldn't try keeping them as a "pet", though. They require exremely diverse habitats and tropical conditions. This is one specimen that needs to be left in it's native environment.
