11yr. old dog taking amoxicillian for skin infection,has 2 cysts like lumps under skin on abdomen,her dog bed has a wet spot on it ,cyst seem smaller,no detectable odor,is it possible for them to drain,or is it urine leakage?

there is no skin breakage on belly,cysts are deffinately smaller,bowel movement ok,urinated ok,but large wet spot this time when she got up,has to be coming from vagina,can it be coming from the cysts,had the cysts before taking the amox

vet is gone till monday i called first thing this morning,has anyone ever had this with their dog,she has always been healthy until this skin thing started

check the are where the cyst is. did the skin break? check for any sores. that could be the problem. good luck

older female spayed dogs can have a weak bladder, especially around this age.
If you do suspect the cyst, check it out. Put a very small amount of pressure on it and see if it drains.

But no matter what, call your vet!! The phone call is free :) It could be something more serious.

Amoxicillian has a tendacy to cause secondary yeast infections..I would contact the vet.

Perhaps your dogs developed a yeast infection from the antibiotics. It is not uncommon for that to happen.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Probably a secondary yeast infection. She still has a vaginal canal.
