I have a 7 mo. old English Bulldog. He is the sweetest puppy ever. Until the past month. We have had to have the cable company come out 6 times in 2 weeks to reattach the cable cord to the outside of our home. The bathroom cabinets have been torn apart (where his water and food are), and our guest bedroom has been shredded (he pulled a hodini and escaped from his metal kennel that was in this room). He is shown so much attention, we walk him daily for 1-2 miles and he has tons of chew toys! Im about at my ends. What else can i do?!

He's at the stage I like to refer to as the "terrible two's" but in doggy mode. He needs lots of positive reinforcement, and you should work on basic obedience with him often. You should also have him with you all the time to supervise until he calms back down, or have him crated if you can't. There's not a whole lot you can do besides be with him every second to correct the behaviors, and work with him through this time. You can also try upping his walk time and distance, he's getting older and should be able to do a little more now. I always go with the saying "A tired dog, is a well behaved dog".

Obedience classes, feed him somewhere other than the bathroom and put his crate in the laundry room, your bedroom or somewhere else that has your "essence" in it. Get some beef tendon or trachea he may very well need a more interesting chew toy. Get a Kong, buster cube or other "work for the treat" toy. As for the outer fixture for the cable, get some ply wood and build a box around it. If he can't reach the cable line, he can't destroy it. If he isn't neutered get it done. Neutering doesn't always "cure" behavior problems but it can help.

As a new mommy of a litter last year, I kept 3 of my pups(for a total of 5 now) and I have to buy all new everything now that they are done destroying.. They have eaten my 3 kitchen chairs, my cherry coffee table, cushions off my kitchen chairs, socks(thanks to hubby teasing them with socks), brand new shoes(2 pair), the kitchen baseboard.. the linoleum and the latest which was after an "escape" also, is my whole sectional couch.. had to be thrown out for trash as I had only one good cushion left after my husband and I went away for 5 hours...
I have also had two waterbeds that have been broken from my little beauties.. I am now in a regular mattress and have terrible back problems, but gotta love my little beauties..
I agree you should get him a Kong toy, they have to work for hours to get the treat, but mine went on to other things after they couldnt get the treat...
Good Luck and have lots of patience.. They do grow out of it.. mine are now 16 months and they pretty much leave stuff alone..

Crate training.
Crate him when you can't watch him.
If you're gone for long periods of time, send him off to doggy daycare or get a dog walker.

You didn't think you could get a puppy and it was just going to train itself do you? That dog as with any dog needs training otherwise it will keep up its behaviour.
