I recently adopted a dog that sounds like the type you are looking for from a rescue recently. He's a terrier mix (mixed with what, I have NO idea). He is small with red hair, green eyes, a pink nose and super cute puffy ears- the rest of him is un-puffy so it's extra cute. I have taught him to sit, down, and come and he knew all 3 in just a few tries- he's a flippin genius! If you live in Illinois he has a little brother who is black who still needs a home- I bet he's just as smart. Anyway, in my experience, my mix breeds have been a bit smarter than the purebreds (my coonhound is sort of dumb, but sweet). Terrier mixes are very clever in my opinion. Best of luck!

Did you ever see the movie Best in Show when they were singing:
"God loves a terrier
yes he does
God loves a terrier
that's because
Short sturdy bright and true
They give their love to you
God didn't miss a stitch
be a dog or be a b****
when he made the Norich merrier
with it's cute little deriere
yes God loves a terrier"

Sooooo funny!!

Depends, I recomend you going to animal planet and answer the test that they offer there, it's really informative and you'll also see pictures of the differents breeds. My advise, don't look at puppy pictures and based your decision (the part of it regarding looks) in how adults dogs look, puppy stage is a few months, an adult is a lifetime responsibility. Regarding trainability, that depends, my maltese learns a lot about tricks and commanded the basics really fast but potty training was a pain in the B****, so everything is up to you. Moreover, before getting a dog make sure you're ready for what a dog really means (ups and downs) Good Luck in your search.

Sorry I don't know the actual names of them. But I think the one that looks like toto, is cute. Or the little white fluffy dog.

Maltese, poodle, shih-tzu or any mix of these are good. Check with your local shelter or go to petfinder.com and put in your zip for some of the local rescue groups. They have worked with the individual dogs and can usually help you make a good match for what you want.

A Maltese or a Norwich Terrier. It is best to do some research for which dog fits your personality and lifestyle.

Get a Chihuahua, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, or a Westie (West Highland Terrier)!!!! (You know, it's your choice)

You should go to a local shelter/pound because there are so many animals that need homes, who are sweet, obedient and loyal.
