I am truly sory. There is really nothing that can actually make you feel better ( sorry but it's the truth)
I will say that I'm sure you love her and you and your family have done all you cna for her.
Just remember if this is true she is in pain saying that here is a poem that may help to come to some terms with this> I know it's hard but please think of your ood dog and whats best for her.

PUT ME TO REST

Time to let me go my friend,
Because my life no-one can mend,
Its better to let me go this way,
Than watch me suffer night and day.

I'm happy to go, my time has come,
My quality of life is no longer fun,
Ive been so ill, so its not a bad thing,
To let me go forever resting.

Stay with me till I drift away,
Fast asleep forever I pray,
To relieve me from suffering and pain,
What more can I ask from my best friend.

Don't be sad, I'll be free from pain,
Never to be ill ever again,
I know you'll miss me being there,
But all the memories you have to share.

Thankyou for being my best friend,
And all my needs that you did tend,
Try not to be sad, try not to cry,
Now's the time to say GOODBYE PUT ME TO REST

Melissa,

Don't give up until you hear the results of the tests and what the veterinarian said. She's not that old.

If your Dad knows how much your girl means to you, then will he spend the money or make payments if this will get her better? Sometimes it takes a specialist veterinarian, surgery, medication, rehabilitation, time, and tender care.

I know; I spend $3,000 on my dog who had back surgery at a vet college This was 3+ years ago and she is doing well - yep, still with me!

Also, I wonder with the salivation if she didn't have a seizure?
Seizures can be controlled with medications and change of diet and there is an excellent forum on canine epilepsy on Yahoo groups.

Whatever it is, I usually try to give my dogs a couple of days to see if they can 'hold steady' and/or 'improve.' Sometimes it takes a few days to see which way the problem will go. Talk to the veterinarian. See if she needs a specialist.

However, remember this. You love your dog. She loves you. This means she trusts that you and your Dad will make the BEST decision for her out of love. Dogs aren't afraid of Death like we are. They are creatures of God and they know they will go to Heaven when it is time. Hopefully, it is not time right now.

God bless you.

lets not jump the gun because there might be some hope for her. not knowing exactly what is wrong all i can do is tell you that its going to be hard and just know that if she is in pain and she is put to sleep she will no longer be in pain. and that is the strongest form of love you can have. When my doberman was hit by a car i was just as hysterical as you are and he was in the hospital for about 3 days. his spine was injured and he was not going to get better. I had to go and get another doberman pup before i put him down so i would have something to come home to. it lessens the loss you feel because the love and happiness a puppy can bring you is remarkable. it can heal you. if you end up having to put her down you can go to Rainbow Bridge (its a web site...search for it) there you can put a memoral to remember her by with pic's and stuff. its not easy to loose a pet but its a pretty safe bet that your going to outlive every one you have so learning how to counter act these bad feelings are important. hope you feel better soon and remember if you do have to put her down....a puppy will help heal you....fast.....good luck

I completely understand how important your pets are to you, I love my pets too and losing one is always heartbreaking. Just remember all of the good times you had with her (as corny as that sounds it works!). There is nothing you can do for her now except show her how much you love her either in person or in spirit. It will hurt a lot, it always does, but know that she was a great dog and will never be forgotten by those who love her.

you have touched your dogs heart and she has touched yours. even if your dog cant come back (which if you still believe she will, she will.)

I know all your thinking right now is but she'll never come back!! she CAN come back, you have to bring her back. thats the beauty of love and magic. If you love someone sooo much, there is a way to bring them back in your heart.

all that matters now is that you gave your dog the best life you could have, and it wasn't your fault that she became sick! It sounds like you really loved her and you still always will. Just because she isn't here physically, she is mentally.

Just because your dad says she isnt coming back, doesnt mean she isnt for sure. if you have hope, scientifically, that has been proven to actually heal people! so just have faith and your dog will be back, no matter if its in your heart, or in your home... shes always going to be there!

Losing a dog is hard. I lost my dog on Christmas day unexpectingly. He had a heart attack. It was terrible. The worst christmas ever. I think giving your other dogs plenty of love and affection and you should feel a little better. It will take some time getting over your dog, especially if you loved her very much. I loved my dog very much, it was like I lost a child. It took a while for me to get over him. I still miss him at times. You will feel better just give it time. But remember, it's o.k. to grieve.

It's never easy when we loose a pet. In order to avoid copy write infringement I am going to tell you to run a search on the web for "rainbow bridge" It's a sweet little verse that helps me when I loose a pet.
