Other strange behaviour includes pacing up and down infront of my pc when I'm on it(obviously attention seeking) but when I show her some affection(which is often as I love the little furball) she just hisses and bites me.

Could she be stressed due to harrasment from the big Tom cats in the area and if so could I get her some medication from the vet to chill her out?

My 6 mo. old kitten was spayed yesterday, after we brought her home she was of course drugged up. After 5-6 hours it seems like it totally wore off and she was back to running around, chasing my feet, trying to jump on things, etc.

I blocked off a lot of things that I think would hurt her or she could get into,
and I know she isn't suppose to jump-but of course being a cat she doesnt listen =)

She isn't jumping on anything very high, but Im afraid of leaving her alone and her stitches breaking or something.

Suggestions?
Has anyone elses kitten gone right back to normal behavior hours after being spayed?

I just found out that my cat has flea. I have another dog in the same house and they do have some contact for the past week. I am wondering how can I clean the house to get rid of all the flea? The cat sleeps in the sofa usually, and before I found out he has flea he used to sleep on my bed for few hours. I dont have carpet just hard wood floor and my livng room is together with the open kitchen. So do I just wash everything or have to buy some spray to kill the flea around the living and my bedroom?

since last winter. Now with the cold weather I would like to bring him back inside. Will he have fleas on him or will they be dead because of being outside in the weather? I dont have fleas in my home now and would really like not to drag them in. And bathing this cat is not an option... Hes mean.

Hey all, i currently have two kittens and wish to get a dog. I am going to wait until the cats are a year old because i think that will be safer, however i need your opinions.

1) What type of dog is best suited to cats. Im not sure if any are but if they are i would like to know. (I would like a bulldog tbh)

2) How old should the cats be before i get a dog to make sure that they will be safe

Thanks in advance

Not a day goes by when our cat seems to have a choking fit! We did take him to the vet and was given some pills for a virus problem that is apparently quite common in cats. We have diligently given the medication, but he is still having this problem.

We think it is distressing to him, because he likes to be close to us when he is having this fit!

Otherwise, he seems normal; just likes to eat too much; his toilet is normal etc, except for this choking he gets.

I have tried to search out the answer myself, but have not had much success, plus going back to the vet to be yet again fobbed off is not cost effective - unless, we have some insight into the problem.

Can someone help?

I have to take my puppy (10 week old) to work with me, he stays in the back of my van and sleeps until lunch when i play with him and give him his 2nd meal.

I had been letting him out for a pee and poo at work, on some grass behind the building, dogs are walked around near my work.

He's had his first injection, he is let out only for his pee and poo, then is straight back in the van.

Should i continue doing this, or just get some training pads and have him wee in the van? Or would he be fine holding it til he gets home? He holds it all night, and will pee on command for me.

I want to do the right thing for him

I'm fostering a one week old, orphaned, singleton pup from my work. My dogs usually do fine with fosters, but this pup is really bringing out the maternal instincts in my greyhound. She sits outside the door to the room and won't leave. She paws at the door, lays in front guarding it, she was even whining at it this morning. The times I've had to bring the pup (in it's carrier) into the rest of the house she has not left the carrier's side. I can tell she's had quite a few litters before we adopted and spayed her from looking at her mammary glands. Any ideas on ways to distract her?

i have a chihuahua that is about 9 months and something is wrong with her eye. i noticed it yesterday morning that her right eye was lower than the other and she kept blinking it and the white part was red. now this morning when she wakes up her right eye wont even open. when i got home yesterday my dad told me to wash her face with warm water and he told me to do the same again once i told him that it wouldnt open.

Everything has been normal and fine with her but i was thinking that she probably could've been alergic to carrost i dont know. i tried to give her one, she reallt didnt eat it she just chewed most of it up and spit it out.

well please someone help me if you can tell me whats wrong with my pup :-/

i noticed 2days ago that my female cornsnake had milky blue eyes so she has obviously began to shed her skin. she wont eat (but i think thats normal) and she hasnt come out of her hiding pot for about 3 days.
how long will it take her to actually shed all her skin and if she doesnt come out of her hiding pot should i lift it up to check if she has shed her skin soon ? becuase i dont want to upset her by lifting the pot from her too early because when i last went to lift the pot to handle her she seemed pretty grumpy (obvously due to her shedding).

also when she has shed her skin (this may sound stupid) should i take it out straightaway (the skin) or leave it in there?

I am buying a dog in 2 weeks and the owner said icould take her home early if i wanted too before he got her their shots. If i took her home early then i would have to bring her back the day of her shots and then pick her back up. Is this a good idea?

Do you find it to be a hassle? Are the rules in your region very restrictive? Are transit employees very arbitrary in enforcing - or making up :-( - rules?

I'm interested in becoming a dog handler. I've had dogs my whole life and have done jr.showmanship, agiliity and obedience. I do need some refreshing on conformation since it's been a while. I'm 34 and I absolutely love ALL DOGS! I'd be willing to do this for free. I'm personable, look nice, work well with dogs, and I think I'd make a great handler. I'm not talking about big time yet! I live in Michigan about an hour from Chicago, hour from Kalamazoo, MI and hour from South Bend, IN and can travel up to 3 hours. I basically would love to eventually breed and show dogs but I need a lot more time around experienced breeders and in the show ring! I currently have 2 Shetlies (my favorite breed of all time!) but although verey lovely, they could be shown but wouldn't excel and I don't believe in showing a dog unless it has "FUTURE CHAMP" on it's head. The one is incredible at agility and obedience and she's still only a year and a half and I'm waiting till (CONT'd)

We like to let our dogs have alot of outside time when the weather is nice..well in the summer flies can be an issue...especially when you live on a farm like we do... What do you do to prevent fly bites on the ears?
We use fly predators to help keep the fly population down and also use the oil based fly spray we put on our horses on their ears... we spray it in the palm of our hands and rub it into the ear...

just curious what others do to help with or prevent this issue

Just reading the pages here, how many poor dogs are laboring, delivering or have pups stuck inside? Does this make you as sick as it makes me? Those poor dogs with owners that never took the time to learn or save for emergencies. And this is just on YA. How many suffering dogs and pups must go through this before people see the harm they cause?
