You will need to take care of the kittens and find good homes for them, if you have a male cat he will have to stay indoors. Neutering pets isn't something I like doing, but it's more humane than having to put down hundreds of animals that don't have homes.

if the cat is a indoor cat they will become frustrated and possibly distructive as they will have urges to mate but cannot fulfil that urge. If it's a male cat it will spray everywhere. If it's a female cat you will have her calling a lot of the time and don't forget the occational bleeding.

If it's an out door cat and you have a female you will have to look after the kittens and find them homes as the female cat will rejest them after about three months when she is possible pregnant again.
If you have an out door male cat, they will get into morte fight and also you will be responsible for bringing more unwanted kittens into the world.

All of the above are just the main reasons to have your cat neutered. I personally think it is kinder to have them neutered. It is a fairly easy operation and these days is not that expensive. There are also some health bnenefits to the operation. See the link below for more information. :)

I hope you like dealing with a frantic cat trying to mate. Males spray indoors if they can't get out--and the spray stinks. Once they start it's hard to make them stop. Females will spray too, especially if they can smell males nearby. Soon neither one will use the litter box because now THAT turns into a behavioral issue.

Kittens-------if you can't find homes, someone at the shelter will probably put them down. It's not humane, neither is adding to the pet overpopulation. If you give up your cat after all the behavior issues establish, it now becomes ANOTHER person's problem and they often will bring the cat back to the shelter and it'll be euthenized as unadoptable.

Be 'humane' and give the cat the best chance at a smooth life in a permanent home.

Getting a cat spayed or neutered is not inhumane at all. It is a common procedure and most cats are up and back to their old selves within a few days. If you have a male cat, he will be more prone to urinary tract infections and inappropriate spraying if you don't get him neutered. If you have a female cat, she will go into heat every so often and this is actually a miserable state for a kitty. If you do let your cat mate, you will be producing even more kittens in a world already full of unwated pets.

Female cats are like rabbits they are either in heat or pregnant so if you don't want kittens I suggest you get her SPAYED. Also the amount of kittens out there is astronomical and although they are cute there just isn't enough room and homes for them so they are being put down by shelters and that my friend is inhumane. If the cat is male and you don't Neuter him you will have to put up with him spraying everything you own in your home it's disgusting and a hard smell to get rid of all which could be prevented by a simple surgery that takes a da to do and a day to recover from. They will not be recovering from the surgery itself but the effects of the anesthesia. Trust me it will be the best thing to do for your kitty and for you. It's not inhumane to do this infact ask any doctor and they will tell you the samething GET YOUR CAT FIXED

Well they do say there are issue later in life for non fixed female cats...mainly a higer chance of cancer.
And like everyone else here has said there are so many stray cats and kittes that get put down just for the lack of home. We are cat owners must do a bitof animal control.

Really I would go in and talk to your vet about the procedure. It is really not as bad as you think. All 4 of my cats are fixed.

Is human surgery inhumane? It is irresponsible not to neuter your cat, unless you make sure the cat never leaves your home. There are so many unwanted pets already, it would be inhumane to contribute to that problem.

If the cat is female, it goes into heat each month and is obnoxious. Keep it inside and avoid other cats to keep from having kittens that someone will eventually toss out to die. A male cat, if not fixed, will spray the house.

I think it's cruel not to . If it is a male cat he will get into fights and disappear for days and even weeks. If its a female no matter how hard you try she will manage somehow how to escape male cats from miles will be fighting for her and even try to get into your house. There are so many unwanted animals out there already. Its a hard life for a cat that get abandoned.

It's a very humane procedure that takes all of maybe twenty minutes. The kitty is given anethesia, the testicles are removed very quickly, and the kitties are generally up and perky again within the same day. If you don't have this procedure done, you are risking creating more unwanted kittens, increasing his risk of "bad" behaviors that might cause you to disown him, also increasing his risk of contracting various illnesses (testicular cancer, etc.).
Please neuter your pet,- it will make him a happier, healthier companion for you.
