That must have been terrifying for you. I would have probably panicked. Your dog needs immediate veterinary care, he may have an internal injury and/or infection. Before you leave, make sure to offer water because dehydration is a big enemy at this point. I wish you the best and hope your doggie is okay! Good luck!

1)You should have taken him in to the vet immediately.
2) He may have contracted Rabies from the coyote.
3) He may be injured in some way that you can't see or find.
4) This is serious and needs medical attention. The only thing that they can do for rabies is put the dog to sleep as far as I know but it may be something they can fix.

It is standard protocol that if any domestic animal comes in contact (fights) with a wild animal that it should be taken to the vet for a rabies booster and a through exam.

Take your dog to the vet ASAP. You don't know if the coyote was diseased or carrying rabies.

Vet
The coyote may have injured him in a way that's not visible. He could have a problem with his insides. This is major and very serious if untreated. Go STRAIGHT to the vet.

Man I'm sorry everyone is being rude and harsh, but they are right you need to take your dog to the vet, if you haven't already, if you have you need to call your vet, and see what he has to say. You know you guys could have told her what to do and be nice about it, its bad enough her dog got attacked, she already probably feels bad.
anyways I hope everything will be fine with your dog.
Good luck!!!

I surely hope your dog was up to date on his vaccines. Let me spell it out for you--R.A.B.I.E.S. Always fatal. You need to get your dog to a vet ASAP. That means right now. Shut off your computer, put on your shoes, get the leash, start the car, drive to the nearest emergency veterinary clinic and have your dog examined by a professional. I mean, what do you hope to accomplish here on line??? No one here can help your dog, take him to the vet.

I agree, no need to be rude. A vet is definitely in order though, immediately if not sooner would be best given his lethargy. Good luck
