I am at a university in NS right next to a salt water bay. Our water that comes from the bay is treated, but the problem is that it is sooo loaded with chlorine, its pretty nasty to even drink.
The university recommends Breta Water Filters to attach to the faucets or a pitcher with a Breta Filter installed in the pitcher.
Lately, i have been taking the water straight from the tap, and using Aqua Plus Tap Water Conditioner to lower the chlorine level. But lately, a day after cleaning the tank and using the conditioner, the tank gets scummy right away and hazy, and the fish is not too active.
Now today i used bottled water on the tank, and he likes it. it's a quick fix for now. But i do not want to have to go out buying bottled water every week for his tank.
What i want to know is this: What water would be better? Water from the tap with the conditioner, or make a supply of fresh water using my pitcher with the Breta Water Filter?
