Your dog likely has a kidney or bladder problem. I had a male cat that had it so bad he had to be put down, but he was bleeding nearly constantly, not just a bit in his urine.
Take doggy to the vet ASAP. Your dog does not have to be put to sleep, medications are available to help. It may only be a bladder infection that can be cleared up quickly.
Good luck!

Good quick reference for this is the website
www.bigpawsonly.com, which lists several of the most common things to consider.
Best common sense advice - GO TO THE VET!
There are several reasons that your dog might have blood in their urine. Below are some of the most common reasons given by various veterinarians:
1. Your dog might have a urinary tract infection
2. Your dog might have an infected prostate;
3. Your dog might have a uterine infection;
4. Your dog might have stones;
5. Your dog might have been poisoned;
6. Your dog might have been bitten by a tick; or
7. Your dog might have been in a serious accident causing internal injuries.
If your dog does have bloody urine, you should consult your vet to see what exactly might be causing the problem.

She could have a urinary tract infection that has not been treated properly which can cause blood in the urine. Or it could be a kidney problem/failure. You need to call your vet because blood in the urine is a definite sign of something wrong.
Your a little quick to ask about putting your dog to sleep. Go to the vet.

Euthanization shouldn't be a first option. You should be asking ''should she be evaluated by a vet?". The answer to that, of course, is ''yes''. She could have a minor health problem that can be taken care of with medication. Just because she's a 'senior', doesn't mean you should lower the amount of medical attention you're willing to provide for her.

It means its time for a vet visit to see what's wrong.
I wouldn't make the decision to PTS until I knew what the problem was. If its something easily treatable, then treat it.
