I have two male rabbits that I took on earlier this year as their previous owner didn't want them anymore and was planning on killing them. I've had them both neutered and they are always together so they must have a good bond. My older brother has asked if I can take on another unwanted, badly treated rabbit from someone who rescued it from a young boy who wasn't caring for it properly. The woman who currently has the rabbit has said she will take him to the vet to be neutered. My two rabbits live in an enclosure which is approximately 10feet x 8feet x 10feet x 8feet and around 6 - 7feet high and have a hutch in there too, I let them out of the hutch in the morning and shut them in again late at night. My question is, am I doing the right thing taking on another rabbit and are they likely to fight, or will they settle down and be good company for each other? I'd like to give the rabbit a good home, but not if it's going to cause trouble with the other two!

Hello just wante some advice. I just adopted a pup and she is female. I have had nothing but male dogs in the past and neutered them, however, I am wondering if it is different for a female. I was curious when you can get them spayed or if you have to wait longer? I know it is a tad more invasive than a male dog. My pup is about 2 1/2 months old.

I am gonna talk to a vet but just wanted to get others opinions as well. So thankyou in advance for reading this.

My aunt's golden retriever had babies, and so far she's named them Sydney and Paris. shes giving me one of the golden pups, and she wants me to name the pup a city/place too. I keep thinking London or Milan but i kinda want a different name,a unique one. it has to be easy to pronounce tho,and not too long cuz then it'll be hard to call the dog.

Some people say that the original diet of the wild dog was raw meat. But, domesticated dogs have evolved since then, and maybe they aren't quite capable of eating like that anymore.

Then again, sled dogs still eat raw meat and bones.
Is the difference between quality natural kibble and the BARF diet really that great?

I am looking to adopt a puppy in the near future and wonder if I should go for feeding raw or sticking to kibble?

Healthwise - are they equal?

Is the BARF diet more burdensome? Portioning, freshness, boarding diet, if he/she get sick and has to stay at the vets?

I would think that giving a dog raw chicken wings is just asking for splintering. Are beef bones more suitable?

There's a wealth of information on the net that are for the BARF and some who are very against BARF.

Anyone have personal experience?

Anyone tried BARF and switched back or had an adverse reaction? Anyone have great results on BARF?

What do you think?

I was at work last night, and i heard a kitten crying. She ran away from me at first so i know she has to be 6-8 weeks old. I have decided to keep her also. I already bought her dry kitten food, Witch she is eating. She was also infested with fleas so i gave her a bath using cat/kitten flea shampoo. I put a flea collar on her for about 11 hours, But i later read that you shouldn't do that with a kitten, So i took it off.

I am just wondering if ive taken the right steps so far, and what else should i be doing? As i havent owned a kitten sense the 3rd grade.

Well, I had to give away my rabbits today because we moved house. But my dad bought us a new bird to cheer us up. She fell in love with our other bird, Charlie but we can't think of any names! She is a female budgerigar and she is purpleish-move with a bit of white and black on her tail, head and tummy. We thought of a name like 'Charlotte' but it's to similar to 'Charlie' (our other bird) and we also thoght of 'Cherry'. I thought that was a good name, but then we realised it was to much like 'Charlie'...again =D. And 'Cherry' also seems to resemble 'redness' like for a red coloured bird. But you might want to say we could call her lavender, but its old and boring...also too human like. We want something unique like 'Cherry', but something that suits a purplish-blue type of bird. So, please help! Thanks~.

I recently brought a small hard plastic fish tank to keep a couple of goldfish in, i set up all the decorations and added the water with the purifier, i tested the water and the ph and ammonia was fine, then i cleaned the outside with glass cleaner and tested it again and the ammonia levels really high, so i took half the water out and cleaned the outside with hot water and a clean cloth, but still the ammonia levels are the highest i have ever seen, what could of casued it? could the glass cleaner absorbed into the tank?how do i get rid of it?

She isn't spayed and is about a year old. She is a rat terrier, and she is in heat. We had her on her run leash outside (since I don't want blood all over my house and she tears off the diapers) in our fenced-in back yard when we went to the pool. We came home to find her literally "stuck" to a male dog. He got his penis stuck inside her and tried to run away when he saw us, taking her backwards with him. Sounds horrible, but it was a funny sight. He appeared to be a pit bull or maybe a pit bull mix but I don't know how old he was. He wouldn't let us get close enough to find tags and call his owners to get his details and make sure they know they WILL be paying for some of the vet bill since he wasn't properly contained. So, since I know she had sex, how do I know if she's pregnant and what do I do? She dripped some discharge on the steps- I assume semen. I don't even know if the male was old enough to get her pregnant or if she can carry his pups. What if the pups are too big?

We have a 100 lb lab. He's so cute and full of personality. Here's the problem... Even though he went to 2 months of training (we call it boot camp) he refuses to obey. He loves to tip toe around the house and open closed doors on his own, take food off the stove /counter that i'm in the middle of preparing, drag us on our walks - get the picture? We tried very hard to enforce everything they said he learned but we found out later they used a shock collar (never occured to us to ask and they never mentioned it or he wouldn't have gone to that school) so... since we won't use one on him he gets away w/ murder- or would if he could figure out how. Commands, treats, choke chains etc... nothing seems to work. He is taller than i am when he stands on back feet and almost weighs as much too. I am tired of him calling the shots and would like my own bed back. He's now telling me to get off the computer because it's time for him to take me for a walk!! Will getting him neutered help? what else?

What's your pet's name?

IMO, Ear cropping or tail docking is kind of like the Abortion issue. It's a personal decision that carries risks and which I'd rather see a doctor do instead of a backyard butcher I have an APBT and her ears are not cropped. I love her ears just the way they came naturally, but at the same time, I still can't view a Boxer or a Doberman as a victim of mutilation because their ears are cropped, any more than I can view a poodle as being treated cruelly for having it's tail docked in the first few days of life by a qualified person. If this were made illegal, do you think it would encourage back yard butchers? I shudder to think of the resulting botched jobs and true cruelty that would occur if it was outlawed in America. So I am NOT for it personally, but FOR it being done by a professional vs. backyard butcher.

My puppy has seperation anxiety. We would just let him get used to being alone in the kennel or even a room BUT living in an apartment, we don't want to get complaints about the yelping and howling. It sounds as if someone is beating him :-(. Here are the details:
- He is a "I wanna please you" puppy, who can already sit, down, drop-it, shake, and working on roll-over in a very short amount of time.
- When we kennel him, leave him alone in a room, or leave him in the apartment alone, he yowls
- when we are home he follows us everywhere... even to the washroom (he has designated himself a spot in there while we do our business
- When I go in the tub and let him in the bathroom so I don't have to worry about him bugging neighbors he will try to, and usually succeed at jumping in the tub. Needless to say, that isn't a relaxing bath
- we have tried leaving the TV on, leaving stuff with our scent in the kennel, leaving for short periods of time and for long periods.
Any tips?

I'm pretty good with fish tanks and all that and recently I got a new 29 gallon tank, I filled it up and everything and then poured a little stress coat and stress zyme in but I noticed the tank was getting really cloudy, after doing some research I found out that the stress zyme contains a lot of live bacteria, could that be why it's cloudy? I poured too much of the zyme in so that might be why.. How should I go about fixing this? Refilling the tank with new water or what? help!
