My dogs bark at EVERYTHING - they feed off each other and it can get quite annoying as you can imagine. I heard that these are safe and more effective than shock collars. anyone had good or bad experiences with them?

My cat is female, she is 5 years old and has not suffered with this before. Her belly and back legs have almost gone bald, she has been to the vets and they couldn't find anything wrong. I have 4 cats in total, all are spoilt rotten and there are no favouritism issues!!! I have tried a skin irritation cream but that hasn't really worked and I don't know what to try next :(

ive reserched the product it will neutralize the ammonia until the bacteria catch up and eat it. It is just unionized ammonia. I have had no fish die i got rid of some of them but the problem is i cant tell how much ammonia there is i am currently doing frequent water changes to try to get rid of the ammolock. plus i cant tell what the ammonia situation is but im sure there is ammonia because i have no nitrites. I figured the nitrates i have now were from my tank cycling until i changed the filter and now i think the cycling process has started all over again. Basicallly my question is do you think my tank is recycling including all the information i gave in my last question. I have soaring ammonia no nitrites and a level of nitrates. Changing the filter would have killed the nitrite bacteria i must have had some bacteria at some point to give me nitrate

My American Bulldog keeps niping my kids, every time I see this I reprimand the puppy by firmly tapping its nose with 2 fingers each time he does this action, however he still insists on niping at my kids. We have come to love the puppy but I'm at wits end on trying to get him to stop niping a tthe kids because they want to play with him. So what do I do then?

My 10 year old cat had surgery at the end of August and I have been informed today that the wound doesn't seem to heal properly. The vet wants to go back, cut the wound open and re-stitch it. We're already almost $2k in the hole and I just want this to be over with for my sake and especially for my poor kitties sake. Is the surgeon just trying to make more money or is it really necessary to go through this again?

I'm asking because I have two kittens, about 16 weeks old now, and when I first got them, I noticed one had a VERY long tail. Like, he could tickle the back of his head with it if he tried. I know with dogs that big paws can mean a big dog. Does a long tail mean a large cat? Thanks in advance.

My question is simple: Does the strength of a cat's purr lessen over time? I'm asking, because I got two kittens, about 16 weeks, and an old, 14 year old cat. I noticed my older cat's purr is much softer than the kitten's, who sound like race cars sometimes. So yea, just wanted to know if this is possible/why it happens/if anyone else has noticed this. Thanks in advance.

My kitten is only two weeks old. Just yesterday I noticed that one eyes is open, and the other is closed. They were both open completely three days ago, though. Could it have been scratched in the eye by one of his brothers', or did it just close because he's not used to the light yet?

I have a black Lab and she likes to roll, she's 12 yrs old and very healthy, she's mostly an inside dog who is let out to go to the bathroom.

The only problem is she loves to roll when she is outside the most and she almost always rolls in poop! How can I stop her from this habit or at least get her to not roll in stuff?
Any suggestions?

Help, this is getting to be annoying and a mess!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't like cats and could not imagine having to pick one up. My gran is old and lives on her own, and my mum is away till Wednesday and if the cat died I would feel very bad. Or will it be ok for my mum to take him on Wedneday??

My husband and I cannot agree on this: (Note: We have a 2 year-old son).
After playing ball with our adorably loving Pit Bull, my husband lets her keep her ball with her on her bed. I always take it away after game time, because I'm worried she'll become possessive if anybody, namely our son, goes to grab the ball, even if it's all in fun. She has never once nipped at another person, but I've done my research and I just don't think it's a good idea. My husband disagrees. He's been a dog owner his entire life (this is my first dog), and he thinks that if she's been good, she "deserves" to keep it with her on her bed. What do you think?

My indoor/outdoor cat, Lance, has been acting very odd for the last 4 or 5 months. This summer he has been killing at least one small animal/day--at times 2 or 3. We live in a suburb, and they are usually mice or moles, and sometimes birds and recently chipmunks. He has never killed at this rate before.

His killings have grown increasingly violent: he leaves diembowled mice on the doormat, and today I have home to a mouse nose (yes, nose) on the drive way.

He has lost a lot of weight, too, even though he eats a lot (unlike my other cat of the same age, who is a little fat).

He has just gotten weirder. When he's indoors he is VERY clingy. He will not leave you alone and is always climbing on us. He used to be affectionate, but now he's just weird.

He also has taken to peeing on the washing machine, recently, and he never had a peeing problem before.

We're wondering if he might be ill, perhaps with a parasite he caught outdoors. Would this explain his odd change in behavior?

i just got 2 birds they were rescued...
cages were filthy.
they were being kept alive with moldy wild bird seed.
I cleaned their cages spotless.
I bought them new toys.and food.
they seem to be very happy , and are singing all the time.
I am TOTALLY bird stupid. is there anything i should know thats very important? I have never owned birds before. and I want to do right by them, they have been wronged for so long. I want to be the best bird mommy I can be. I am already a mommy of 3 boys, 2 cats, and 1 dog. Please if there is anything I need special for them please tell me. and I will get it.

I'm interested in keeping leopard geckos, but i can't find much info on what they are like. What do they act like? And do they do anything before nightfall? Are they easy to get bored of?

Thanx
