Yesterday i Filled my fish tank up after being fixed for a leak. The water was perfectly clear then, but i wake this morning and its a cloudy white colour. I have also replaced the filter sponge and carbon. It's a filter from big w, should i splash out and get a better one. What should i do?

What everybody else missed, is that you refilled your tank completely new and have put a new filter cartridge in there as well

the reason your tank is cloudy is because it's cycling, and will disappear once your good bacteria is established

the following site should help

Hope that helps
Good luck

Give the tank a few days to clear up sometimes mine gets like that after water change but then clears up.You should keep an eye on the heater/temp of the tank and after a few days check the chems.the water will have a little cloudy look but then is ok. Did you empty the tank all the way or just half?if you took all the water out then you should let the tank sit with all pumps and heater on for about 3 weeks before you put fish in the tank this way the tank can build up the thing the tank needs to keep the fish alive... good luck.

The cloudiness might be caused by a certain type of food or chemical you are putting into the tank. I would suggest to change the filter again (this time from a new pet store) and see if the tank clears up. If not, try switching foods or chemicals.
