can... when they are capable of reproducing
SHOULD: After 2 years *IF* they are champions, have an impeccable pedigree and all health certifications including OFA for hips & elbows as well as CERF for eyes and full certification for heart and thyroid .. as well as any other issues your breed is known for.

a dog year is generally accepted as equal to 7 years of human development .. however dogs can breed at 18 months to 2 years in their age which equates to 11-14 years in human terms, Western society however frowns on humans below 17-18-21 (depending on your country) from breeding .. but a lot of countries allow and encourage breeding at the earlier ages .. hence dogs and humans can breed at about the same age

I have no idea what you mean by 'human years'. I didn't realize that dogs used calendars.
The 'normal' age varies, depending on the breed. It's anywhere from 9 months to 2 years. Most breeders won't use a dog if it's under a year old.

Don't breed your dog. There are way too many people who breed their dogs to try to gain a profit, but whose puppies end up in shelters. FYI: The cost of vet bills and such to breed a dog is about as much as professional breeders make by selling the puppies from one litter.

I hope you are not going to breed yours.
At one year a small dog is 14 years of age, at 2 it is about 18. They should be bred at 2 if they are sound, health checked and from excellent respectable bloodlines.

It depends on the breed to some extent, but usually 1 1/2 to 2 years old.

If you really have to ask that question, then you or the person you are asking for should not be breeding a dog.

If you don't know the answer to this you've got no business breeding dogs. Cold hard truth I'm afraid.
