I use Frontline Plus every month. A week ago I treated her. I just noticed she was itching and I looked underneath on her belly and I saw a flea. I can't treat her again so soon, can I? How about if I give her a bath and THEN treat her again? Is Advantage any better than Frontline? I hate fleas. Help me out here please.

When my husband and I originally got our yellow lab, we didn't get him neutered right away because we were thinking about showing/breeding him. At this point, we don't have the time/money to devote to either of those ideas. I'm just considering neutering him now for a few different reasons...although we haven't made a decision yet. Has anyone ever neutered their older dog? How did the surgery affect them afterwards (short term and long term)? Does it really make the dog "calmer?" I don't have a problem with him being aggressive, or humping anything...although he does pull on his leash to try to pee on eeeveryy post and tree in the neighborhood. And I know it sounds silly, but my husband is afraid that the dog will miss his balls...not that that would stop us for real. I'm just looking for some opinions from people who might have gone through the same thing...serious answers only please..and thanks :).

My mom left her pet turtle with me and I don't know when she will be back. I know I have to change the water at least every 2 days, and feed it the food that she left there. BUT what else does it like? Because recently I've been thinking that it's not really into it's food. So please help. Thank you for your answers.

got attacked by my other neighbors dog (neighbor 2). neighbor 1's dog is a daschaund mix. and neighbor 2s dog is a rodesian ridgeback (sp?. well neighbor 2s dog jumped the fence and attacked neighbor 1s dog. (the dog is always getting out. i witnessed the dog getting attacked 2 times in a matter of a couple minutes. i ran over there and got the dog to stop. it seems to have a broken leg and it had punctures all over its body. none of my neighbors were home so i went to bring the dog to the vet myself.. as i was about to leave my neighbor (1) pulled up and i told him everything that happened. so obviously this dog (neighbor 2s dog) is not safe to be roaming around! my dogs are all small and i know that this dog could eat my dogs alive. i called animal control. and they basically said that the guy whose dog got attacked had to report it, but hte thing is it is his brothers dog (neighbor 1 &2 are brothers)i know hes not going to report his brother-this dog is not safe! what should i do?!

My dog (A 1 year old female beagle) has had this thing lately were she has been eating the carpet. She actually stands in the corner and pulls strands of carpet and eats them. Recently she has been eating the bathroom rug too. I was just wondering what this is about. She has a bowl of food always filled that she can get to. She has plenty of of water as well. Is this a vitamin defisancy? Is there a reason for this?

I heard about this theory of breeding a few years ago. Most of the people I spoke to thought it was an outdated method of breeding, but I never could get clear facts about exactly how this method worked.

What I did figure out is that you sort of line breed to the tail females in your dog's pedigree. So in a randomly chosen pedigree (like this one: http://www.laughing-coyote.com/cgi-bin/geneal.pl?op=tree&index=654&gens=5&db=belgians.dbw ), the dogs to focus on are the five b!tches at the very bottom in each generation.

I got that much, but if you're "tail female" breeding, who do you breed a dog to? Do you breed it to his dam or grand-dam? Do you breed it to relatives of any dog in the tail female area of the pedigree?

Who do you breed your ***** to if you're tail female breeding? The father of the dam? The brother of the grand-dam?

The chickadees, tufted titmice, and nuthatches pick out the black sunflower seeds and leave everything else! (Perhaps this is my karma because I pick the M&Ms out of trail mix and leave the raisins...) I haven't gotten any sparrows or doves, so no one is eating the millet or safflower. Should I cave in and buy all black sunflower seeds next time? Or are the millet-eaters on their way? Tell me, experienced birders!

i have had him since he was 8weeks old have taken him to training classes he has been castrated but he still is a very dominant dog, he has never been hit or had food taken off him but he is very protective of food and toys. he lets you stroke him for a while but when he has had enough he growls. just been speaking to a lady who thinks he is nervous and not aggresive, the vet says he has a screw loose. he came from good breeders as we know them personally. i love my dog but i donot trust him with other people or dogs, he ignores cats though. has anyone got any suggestions please?

I have a call in to the vet for more info, but in the meantime, is there a vet tech out there who can recommend any kind of treatment for a feral cat with a rodent ulcer on it's lip? The lip is pulling away from both canine teeth and one side is a little bloody. The cat is drooling because the lips no longer meet. I have been trying to catch her to bring her to the vet, but she is too wild. I caught her once 4 years ago in a TNR trap when I was able to get her neutered, but once they get caught in one of those they never go back. I would like some kind of medicine I can mix in with food for this poor cat. I don't want her to suffer, but she isn't going to let me catch her to get her to the vet.
