I just cut my dogs nail to short and he's bleeding badly. I've tried putting soap on the end but it's not working. He's a huge Chesapeake if that matters.
What do I do?
thanks

"I told you not to put that fish in the tank-he's sick!" Tank has 2 small oscars, five feeder fish, three mollies just a little too big to be eaten, a dragon fish, a gorami, and a danyo. The sickest fish was the smaller oscar, just laid on the bottom and gasped, now after 5 days of Rx is eating again but obviously still has ick. Oh, have been changing out roughly half the water every 3 days. Does that help or make it worse by making the medicine too dilute? Help- I've fallen in love with the oscars!

I have 3 six month old Chihuahuas, that are all going to new homes next week. The reason they haven't been given to the new owners yet, is because each of their owners have recently bought new houses, and have been getting settled in, so we've been holding the babies until now. I just want to make the separation from us to their new home, the least stressful for the babies and the mom. Any suggestions on how to do that, would be greatly appreciated. I would also like to know, if you can give me an idea, as to how long it usually takes for puppies this age to adjust and if I should give them something like a blanket or toys, to take with them. Thanks in advance!

I have a 29 gallon freshwater with a blue gourami, 2 pleco's (yes, I know 2 can't be together but our 10 gallon had alot of dead fish in it and the smaller pleco had to be moved) 4 ugly (to me) white fish (like WHITE skirt tetras) 4 silver-tipped tetras, 2 danios, 1 female guppy(left from the dead fish inciddent) 2 small crayfish and 2 cory's

We will be moving to Minnesota and cannot take them however, we can and will take the tank and get new fish for it but I want something very interesting(don't really like tetras or barbs love cory's) that's freshwater...any ideas?(at least 4 fish so me and my sisters can have one each)

Also, our tank is very clean and has good filtration/heating(so not to worry about the current fish)

I just purchased an Eclipse Hex 5. Thirteen years ago I had a beautiful 75 gallon saltwater tank that failed miserably. Long story short, all I have now is the crushed coral, tufa, and barnacles. They were quite expensive, and I have a bunch, so they are getting used. Plus, I really like how they look.

Anyway, I bought this new aquarium to amuse my cat, which in turn amuses me.

The girl at the pet store said I would be fine, but I seem to remember being cautioned about this. I don't want to kill a fish in the process, so any help is appreciated.

I don't mind going saltwater, so if you have any advice on this tank and saltwater fish, please respond.

I understand the tank size thing, and fish types. I'll probably put just a couple of small non-aggressive fish or a tang in it. The lack of airation concerns me. I know the Bio Wheel is supposed to replace that, but does it work?

Thanks

How much does a veterinarian get paid? I am thinking about becoming a veterinarian and i don't know what their salary is. I was thinking of becoming either an equine veterinarian or just a regular(dog, cat) veterinarian.

I know dogs aren't supposed to sweat. My canine anatomy & physiology book says the only sweat glands they have is between their paw pads. But whenever my short-haired chihuahua gets real warm and is panting, his "armpits" (what would be an armpit in a human, I guess) get all wet! The only explanation I have for it is sweat, but supposedly dogs have no sweat glands there. Could he be a freak? Or is there another explanation I'm missing?

I think my dog has worms, but I am not certain. Is there anything I can give her to fix it if it is worms? My wife's dad says break up a cig and feed her the tobacco but that sounds like it could be sort of dangerous to me! Please help. We are dirt poor and cannot afford to take her to the vet. Thanks.

On Monday, when I put crickets in his cage, he jumped off his branch and could not use one of his back legs. He was dragging it. When he went for a cricket he fell over and then gave up and went to his basking branch. I soaked him for an hour in warm water after that, and he did not pass a bowel movement. The next morning, however, when I looked in the cage there was indeed a fresh poo, so I assumed it was a mild case of impaction and that it passed. Well, he was still kind of wobbly after that, so I bought some sweet potato baby food and pedialyte, and fed him a mixture of the two with a dropper. He ate it fast, and then passed another kind of loose BM. I then tried with collard greens/crickets yesterday. He ate the greens voraciously, and then as soon as he ate two crickets, he couldn't walk well with his back legs and returned to his branch. I bought more baby food/pedialyte today, gave him gatorade to drink, but he still vibrates when I touch his tail/back legs, whats wrong?
