I think my dog has worms, but I am not certain. Is there anything I can give her to fix it if it is worms? My wife's dad says break up a cig and feed her the tobacco but that sounds like it could be sort of dangerous to me! Please help. We are dirt poor and cannot afford to take her to the vet. Thanks.

Just for everyone's information, since fordredneck31 is a complete idiot, We did take her to the vet and had her de-wormed about 2 months ago, but lately her poop has sometimes been puddly poo poo and we don't know if it could be a sign of worms or not and we were wondering if there were any home remedies. She is spayed and she also eats 2 square meals a day, and we even give her a milk bone daily!! Even though we can't afford it!!

and if we were 100% or even 11% sure it was worms we would hit up maa and paa and try and borrow some money to take her to the vet.

Don't use tobacco!!!

When I have no worm pills available, I use one of these methods.

1. Pick a large handful (or more) of grass that is more than about 8 inches long. Mix it with a can of dog food or raw hamburger. Make sure that the grass is coated in the food.
Feed it to your dog like that.
How it works: The hungry worms go straight for the food and get tangled/caught in the grass. The more the more they try to escape, the more tangled they get. The come out with the grass when the dog poops it out.

2. Feed the dog grease (from cooked bacon, duck, goose, etc), and/or lard.
How it works: The grease makes the dog's stomach and intestines greasy, which causes it to be very slippery for the worms. The worms have nothing to hold on to and come out in the poop. The dog may have greasy-watery poop, but the worms will be gone.

I know this is so late to really answer this when the question was asked. But usually if you find a small town vet in a different county they usually offer (at least with small problems like worms) reasonable prices. My main vet is a small town vet, I have 10 dogs and can afford stuff like worming medication (it usually costs me 15 dollars for one dog or 50 dollars for all 10).

Furthermore all of the people that go on with hateful comments should step out from the safety of their computer screen and say some stuff like that. Every time I see some simple stuff like this on here there are so many people who are self proclaimed modern day saints with tons of opinions who like to offer their hateful comments by the handful. Get a life.

I can not even believe that some of your comments could be so rude and just flat out disrespectful I could not afford the puppy I brought home and knew it but what was I TO DO leave him on the side of the road to die that would have been even worse at least I am giving him a fighting chance at life so stop putting people down and try to do what this site is for and that is to answer questions to help with knowledge not smart### comments oh I have heard a diet of rice can help move out the worms doesn't get rid off all but helps move them out hope that helps someone

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU8Rx

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Even a small amount of tobacco or a filter from a cigarett can kill a dog. TABACCO IS TOXIC don't feed your dog tobacco.

You need to take the dog to a shelter sometimes they have programs that will take care of most of the bill or all of it. You might have to have something like medicaid or be disabled though for them to help you. Because disabled people have the right to have a dog too. Don't give him any of the over the counter things to cure worms until you have seen a vet. Most of them contain arson. That is what will kill the worms. If you give too much it can also kill the dog. If he has anykind of health problems that you don't know about such as heart problems it can also kill your dog too. You need to go see a vet first. Most of the vets only charge like 50 dollars to see the dog.

Search for free spay and nuter programs in your seach box they will normally also have programs too that will help you pay for shots and dewormings too.

I have read your comments and some of you guys are so cold. How dare you to make judgment on someone whom you know nothing about and how they might have come to be in their situation. You should be a shamed of yourselves.
