If you would get a 5 gallon for fry, that would be absolutely sufficient
but you will need a heater as well as a filter

If you buy a new tank, i would recommend filling it up with water from the main tank

the impregnation time is kinda really immediately, let's say about 1-4 days

Hope that helps
Good luck

Your fry will not need a heater just keep the water at room tempeture 72 to 80 degrees the people that told you they need a heater are dume I have never in my life used a heater for the fry and they were all just fine. The female will be dropping fry once a month for 6 months. (Good luck on that) the fry tank should be 5 to 10 gallons.
You can email me if you have any other questions about guppies and fry I will be happy to help

Hope this helped

flow vast on the fry tank. reason is that it particularly is much less annoying to maintain the water high quality in a 5gal tank in comparison to a smaller one, and you wont shop plenty funds finding out to purchase something smaller. 5 gal is huge sufficient for a common batch of guppy fry, a minimum of until they improve sufficiently vast to put in with the adults. in case you should purchase a 10 or 15 gal, much better. you need to use it for different fish later. As for an algae eater, there are small species of pleco like Bristlenose that can stay in a 20gal. Ian

Yes, you need a heater because the water will get too cold and the fry will die. I'd say about 5-10 gallons.
