It would probably be good for your puppies especially if you don't have the time or know-how to train them yourself. Because pit bulls are so strong (they can pull 30X their own body weight), they need basic obedience training when they are young and easily controlled.

LOL. Why do you want an overweight, non-athletic dog with joint problems? There is no way that puppy is pure-bred because true American Pit Bull Terriers are usually around 30 lbs, the big ones pushing it at 50. His daddy has mastiff or something in him. Not a real pit bull. Think of what these dogs were originally bred to do. They are athletes. Not fat tanks that can hardly walk down the driveway without loosing their breath. Anyways, just love your little mutt like he is. I'm sure he's a sweetie and be proud of him for what he is. Fat dogs aren't healthy, it's tough on their heart and joints. And true pits are skinny, tough, and small. ;)

all puppies should go to puppy school, then when they graduate they should go to reg. dog training. if you like, you could go into advanced training later on as well. puppy school is all about socializing, which is very important, especially with the breed you have chosen. they also start teaching the basics you will need for reg. classes. all in all, its fun, great way to meet other dog buddies and teach your dogs to listen and be controllable.
