I live in Maine and there are these brown Paotato bug like things all around my home. they don't look like potato bugs besides the fact that they are fat and round other than that they are totally brown (from what i have seen anyway) about the size of my pinky. (i know you don't know what my pinky looks like) any ideas?

We just bought a new set of very nice towels. I washed amd dried them twice to get rid of the water repelling treatments. The lint trap filled up both times with "fuzz". We went ahead and started using the towels. They are very "pilled" and are making a mess in the shower when we dry off. Is there a good way to fix this or something that I can do (short of shaving the towels)? I hate to waste more water just repeatedly washing them but I can't come up with any other alternative.

A family member smokes menthols and they practically stain whatever I wear over there. We get it, smoking is bad, don't waste our time. Is there something I can put in the house to cut down on the excessive odor?

Help! im moving into my new apartment and today my neighboor confronted me and told me that he is a sexologist? (idk if its spelled right) ad that the wall connecting his n my apartment is in his room and my kids room, he says that since i have kids he doesnt want them to hear anything since his clients always come over and it gets kinda nasty. We both came into agreement that we would find a way to soundproof the walls and both pay for it...how do we do it?

As a SAHM and just in general a frugal person, I am always looking for tips to save money. I will share a few of mine too. Here are my favorite money saving tips

Use a crock pot, it takes less money to run than your oves, saves tons of time, food turns out great, and it doesn't heat the house.

Use a Toaster oven. When I'm not cooking in the crock pot I'm cooking in my toaster oven. I bought one big enough to bake pies, bread, cake in square cake pan, cookies, chicken, steaks, etc..... I bought a regular toaster for making toast. I feel making toast in a large toaster oven is a waste of electricity.

Buy used when possible. I bought my sons loft bed for $150 the same exact bed sales for $1000 at our local kids furniture store. I bought his power wheels 2 seater jeep for $30. and I bought a Quadra Fire gas insert for $250, we were looking at the same one at a local store for $2500. These are just a few bargains I have found.

I've never had a problem with ants before in my house, but nowadays I keep seeing them over and over and over. They're in my bedroom, bathrooms, and living room. I kept everything clean and use baby powder, febreeze air effects, and Raid often if I see them. I've even sprayed the ants outside my home to make sure they don't come into my house. Help ME!

As you can guess from my question, I kinda had a bad spill today. I suppose I need to know how you can get stains out of books in general, if anyone knows anything about strawberries specifically, that would be better. I need to know the answer before my book is due next Monday, or else I might have to pay to replace it, yikes!

We have a slow draining sink and we've already tried cleaning and plunging. The auger/snake won't fit through the sink hole because of the stopper thing that gets in the way. So, I've been trying to unscrew the trap underneath to clean it out, but it won't unscrew. One side is really stuck. Is there a specific way or trick to unloosening the trap pipe? (ie both grips unscrews counterclockwise right?) It is plastic. Would I have to go out and buy a pipe wrench or call a plumber?

many thanks

How can you make the cloudines go away. I just recently put too much chlorine.shock.algae killer and now its cloudy and a little bit green. I'm wondering it shouldn't be green since there is more than enough chlorine. WHat happened was i tried to filter it but that wouldn't help. I also scrubbed the bottom of my pool and the powder from the shock treatment was comming up i could see the powder moving around at the bottom as i scrubbed. I just finished scrubbing and got rid of the green stuff, but it's still semi-cloudy what shall i do next. Can you give me steps or an answer that's clear. Thanks so much.
