We just bought a new set of very nice towels. I washed amd dried them twice to get rid of the water repelling treatments. The lint trap filled up both times with "fuzz". We went ahead and started using the towels. They are very "pilled" and are making a mess in the shower when we dry off. Is there a good way to fix this or something that I can do (short of shaving the towels)? I hate to waste more water just repeatedly washing them but I can't come up with any other alternative.

If they are new (its doesn't matter if you washed them) return them to the store and get your money back or exchange them for another brand. Any good store will take them back, washed or not, just explain the problem.

I once had a set of towels (from Walmart) that did the same thing. I ended up trashing them eventually because they didn't stop leaving fuzz on me or my bathroom floor. I hope you find out how to save your towels.
