How can you make the cloudines go away. I just recently put too much chlorine.shock.algae killer and now its cloudy and a little bit green. I'm wondering it shouldn't be green since there is more than enough chlorine. WHat happened was i tried to filter it but that wouldn't help. I also scrubbed the bottom of my pool and the powder from the shock treatment was comming up i could see the powder moving around at the bottom as i scrubbed. I just finished scrubbing and got rid of the green stuff, but it's still semi-cloudy what shall i do next. Can you give me steps or an answer that's clear. Thanks so much.

You are on the right track. Unfortunately, it's going to take some time for the cloudiness to go away by just running your pump to filter out the suspended particles. You can add a flocculant or clarifier but if your filter's ok it's not necessary.
When this does clear up, you need to vacuum to waste (this will keep the excess particles from coming back in and clouding it back up). You can backwash now if you want since the filter's not catching the debris.
You don't normally have to vacuum to waste, but it sounds like your pool got away from you this time.
After you replace the water you lost while vacuuming and get your valve back to normal, let it run a few hours and make some time to get a water sample to the pool shop. Take a clean one gallon zip lock about half full. They will tell you what you need to get your chlorine stabilized, ph, metals, etc.

If you spend some money now and get your water right, you will only have to spend a few bucks a week on chemicals 'till fall.

Clarifiers are OK, I've never had great luck with them. I believe in the filter for removing problems.......filter longer. Also Chlorine dissapates quickly with sunlight and splashing. You could get into the pool and splash around then filter. The "green stuff" sounds like algae. Between the chlorine and the algaecide, sounds like you are getting dead algae debris which the filter removes. Turn on the filter and let it run for 24 hours. Then vacuum again. Of course check the pH, etc as well.

I used to use Water Clarifier in my parents' hot tub when they'd been out of town and I'd screwed up the chemicals.

Good luck!
