I've never had a problem with ants before in my house, but nowadays I keep seeing them over and over and over. They're in my bedroom, bathrooms, and living room. I kept everything clean and use baby powder, febreeze air effects, and Raid often if I see them. I've even sprayed the ants outside my home to make sure they don't come into my house. Help ME!

You can never get rid of ants forever
We have a problem with them at certain times of the year. One season it is the little black ants ( my dad always referd to them lovingly as piss ants) and another season it is just the little brown ants. By spraying the exterior only of your home you will trap them inside your home, always treat interior ( wether by spraying, traps or some other way )first, 24 hours later do the outside for best results.
On the inside I recomend any product containing silica(it comes in granular or a liquid dropper type bottle) you mix it with sugar and they take it back to their home, helping eliminate the colony and it is still there when there offspring hatches.I put it along windows and door jams. You can use it outside as well if you put it somewhere that it will not get wet.
For the outside I recomend malathion, it also takes care of fleas, spiders, mosquitos, ticks and a bevy of other insects, ONLY OUTSIDE!!!
If you get both products from the hardware store shouldn't cost you more than $20, also check the label on the type that you can hook to your water hose to see of it is labeled for ants
Also the ants are probably just seasonal and will only be around a little longer

Ants are a problem this year...you may have a nest under the house (or somewhere else that your Raid can't reach).

I would suggest enlisting the help of a professional. Then, if you still have ants, keep having the professional out until they are gone...they usually offer a 30-120-day guarantee.

By the gods don't call the orkin man! Plant some mint, mentha genus. We use spearment, M. spicata, around the foundation of the house. I haven't seen an ant inside or near the foundation in 20 years. Mint oil is an environmentally friendly pesticide that seems to be particularly effective against members of the insect order hymenoptera, including ants. In theory any member of the mentha genus should work pretty well.

Are they little tiny black ants? If so they are Pharaoh Ants and you need traps all over the house. That should help. Just get the traps at a home and garden store or probably wal mart. If that doesn't work i would call an exterminator.

also, clean up well, especially food and sugar. and keep clutter to a minimum.

Get some boric acid...also known as "Borax" in the stores, mix with some sugar and pour a solid line of it outside around your house or where they are the worst or in your window sills, under cabinets, etc...the ants will carry it back to their nest and kill all of them. It's not as bad as the pesticides with all the chemicals, but be sure to keep your pets away from it. It works every time. They have invaded my kitchen, bathroom and they have crawled all over me at night while I am in bed...to the point I just want to scream, but one of my elderly neighbors told me about this and it WORKS!!!! When the ants are gone, just hose it away.

Sorry dear, there is no forever when it comes to insects. They are mobil and can move right back in. The days of preventative chemcials is over....mostly. We were killing ourselves in addition to the insects. The baits work fine. They take the killing action......usually boric acid...back to the queen and once she'd dead, the colony dies. In addition to the bail, sprinkle boric acid or borax around the perimeter walls...inside. It has to stay there at least over night.

you can buy some of the pellets for ant control and sprinkle them all the wayaround your house next to the base of it and that will help a lot. at least it did help me.

put out ant traps in places where you have seen them the most. certain traps allow the ant to take poison back to the colony and kill all of them. this worked for me.
