I live in Maine and there are these brown Paotato bug like things all around my home. they don't look like potato bugs besides the fact that they are fat and round other than that they are totally brown (from what i have seen anyway) about the size of my pinky. (i know you don't know what my pinky looks like) any ideas?

From your description, they sound like the same type that we have in Carolina. They're attracted to the lights at night, and they don't seem to harm anything. I have no idea where they come from, or what they eat....I can't see a thing that they are hurting.

Can you take a picture? It sounds like some type of ground beetle. However, without a picture, I have a hard time guessing.
