You would need a steamer utility. Check Lowes or Home Depot or some other hardware store. Steam makes it so it will peel off with no effort.

Room will get toasty though ;)

Wall paper remover isn't that toxic. But if you insist: first get a Paper Tiger at the hardware store. It pokes tiny holes in the wallpaper. Cheap. Then you could rent a steamer from the rental store--have them show you how to use it. Awful summer job!! The steam penetrates under the paper through those tiny holes, loosening the glue and then the paper can be pulled off easily. If it sticks, more steam. The wallpaper paste remover speeds the paste's adhesive decomp. You might try mixing dish detergent or Amway LOC in water and using a garden sprayer, spraying the paper with it before steaming.....it might help.

Once the paper is completely off, wash the wall often until you no longer feel "oatmeal" on the wall......it's left over glue. You don't want glue on the wall, especially if you plan to paint over....the glue shows thru the paint.......forever.

You actually need to stipple (poke holes in the wall paper with a hand rolling stippler) and then use a flat steamer for wallpaper removal. These work very well on most drywalled surfaces, can be a little more stubborn on lathe and plaster. Have fun!

Water and vinegar. Mix two parts water to one part vinegar.

You can try steam, but if you have drywall and not plaster, you could have a significant amount of wall repair due to the steam.
