so being the dope i am...i turned on an iron while it was still on my rug. consequently it made a plastic shield in the shape of an iron that is stuck to my living room. any ideas for loosening or getting that plastic out of the rug? also...will this be a large amount deducted from my apt. deposit? thanks for your help

Cut out the burned area in one continuous cut. Take that and go to the closet with the same carpet and cut out a patch. Use carpet tape to secure the patch in the room and put the burned section in the closet. It's probably what the manager would do. As to the deposit, if you made the repair already, they may be more forgiving. If you could find a similar piece of carpeting for the closet patch........wow! you might get off scott free!

Sorry, there's nothing you can do so it won't be noticed. You just lost your deposit. The entire rug will have to be replaced.
