Try fairy dust. Available at most local hardware stores. Usually if you just dust the plants, it will keep them away. If this does not work, make up a solution of 4 parts water to one part fairy dust. Mix well and put into a garden sprayer. Sears has a great 1 gallon sprayer that is easy to handle and has an adjustable nozzle, important when spaying for pixies.
Set the spray nozzle for wide or broad spray, not stream.
Next sit quietly near the flower bed near dusk. Try to be close to the same plants that the butterflies like because these are the same ones that pixies love as well.
As the sun starts to set, you should see them start to appear.Let them start to gather around the flowers. Then spray away!!
It does not matter if you hit them all. Pixies are social creatures and if a few of them flee, the rest will follow too. And don't worry. The fairy dust won't kill them. Just gives their wings a condition like athlete's feet. Lasts for about a week and then wears off. You might have to do this a couple of times, but they will soon get the message and the itch (pardon the pun) to go elsewhere.
Hope this helps. :)

no offense but u might be seeing things or mistaking these "pixies" for fireflies or another type of critter that gives off light. If u want to get rid of them call an exterminator.

Hi rshahad, You are so cute.
I think I know what you are talking about and they are called woolly aphids. They look like little fairies when they are flying around. Here is pic and see if this is your pixie. Scroll down to get a close up look at it.

I could be wrong, but I think this is what you were seeing. I found this image for someone else in answers who called it a "fairy bug"
These little guys are tree aphids. Here is a site that can tell you how to control them if need be.http://www.extension.umn.edu/projects/yardandgarden/ygbriefs/e453woollyaphid.html

Don't call exterminator! Let them be! Maybe build a small pixie house so they can stay warm this winter.

Why would you want to? Are they causing you any harm? We are too quick to try to eliminate those critters we share the planet with. Frankly, I'd serve tea and cookies.
