I have a two story house. The roofline starts at the top of the first level then goes almost flat at the top and then does not slope back down in the back of the house. I have that flat roof look that the side of the house has. The roof is not as steep in the front as others we have seen and I am wondering if there is a way to make it go higher at its highest point so that it isn't quite so flat when it comes back down at the back of the house. There are dormers on the front of roof that provide more ceiling space in the bedrooms.

We are in the process of buying an older home with beautiful hardwood floors throughout. The only problem is when the previous owners decided to pain the house they obviously never thought of covering the floor or even using tape to limit the mess.

I was wondering if any of you have any ideas of how to remove the paint splotches, but not destroy the hardwoods. They are the real deal that is found in older homes, not the cheap laminate that you find now a days. Thanks for any and all help.

This is for a regular sized garden shed, maybe 2m x 3m. I'd like to put a small solar panel on the roof to catch the sunlight. This should charge the batteries in a lighting unit. The batteries do not need to power the light for a long time (maybe 30 minutes). I would like the light to come on automatically when I open the door and go off when I close it again. A mechanical switch fitted to the door would be fine (like in a fridge). A rough price guide would also be useful. Many thanks in advance...

See, my mom cooks a lot (and so do I) and she uses a lot of grease. Problem is, with this winter weather, the windows are often left closed, and that grease smell permeates the entire apartment, ends up in my jackets/clothes, and leaves me smelling...smelly.

Any ideas how to get the smell off my clothes and/or prevent the smell from getting on them in the first place?

I bought a new house last year and was told to spend money on a bed, tiles, floors and cooker and all the rest can be replaced. But I wish someone had told me about the ironing, it takes twice the time.
Anybody else wished they'd spent money on something good rather than a cheap version....

Hi, I am considering the above unit for use around the garden. Mostly to edge lawns, keep weeds down and some cultivating. Do you, or any one you know, have any experience with this brand? Do you know any for sale? Thanks in anticipation. David

I have a loft type space in Clerkenwell and am looking for something really amazing, possibly a lamp or two as well if I find the right thing but I'm a bit picky about lamps. Something with a concrete or cast iron base would be good.

Ok kiddos... Ive looked and looked until my eyes have crossed. I really want to find a photo/poster/wall hanging of Robert Indiana's Love Statue. The one that is in NYC, or Philly. I would love to find it in black and white though... and one that I can order. Not just one to save to my computer... I want to hang it on my wall!
Thanks!!

i asked another question that got me thinking i may just have a problem.i cant stand things out of place in my home.simple things like the way a frame is placed on a self. and than i get over worked when i am having company... i rewash clean towels that might be used, wash sheets that have not been slept on,.. i have even been known to vaccum my floor more than 3 times in a day.my husband is banned from helping me because if he doesnt put the dishes just right in the cubboard i find myself pulling them all out and reorganizing...good for him, but i wish i could just not be so wierd on this subject.I mean is it normal to go in your childs room and rearrange her books everyother day becuase she does not put them back tallest to shortest?see? please tell me how to not be this way....other than seeking proffessional help!
