Hi all please help..im doing up my house and have found a friend who can supply me with wood frames for my windows and doors in india however what are the fensa rules..im thinking of buying the double glazing glass from uk so im 100% sure its safe and meets the regulations..will this still cover me for the fensa cert..im noting going to be selling windows but my building regs in ealing are strict

Fensa regulations cover glass only. The problem is that if you fit the frames yourself you will not get the Fensa guarantee.
If you want to sell your house in the future you will have to foot the bill for an independent survey.

You don't need a fensa installer you can get your Local Authority Building Control to check your windows, costs between £50-£100

The Windows will be fine as long as you use the right spec glass.

as a builder i am not aware of any regs as regards the frames . just make sure you have got lintols over every window .. and toughened glass in all doors and all glass below 800 mm . it might be a good idea to install trickle vents ..but not a legal requirement for replacements
