We occasionally get a roach around here. I don't want to fumigate because there are no gaurentees, and I would do the boric acid thing if I had a few weeks to get out while the roaches died. But I was wondering what the best way to kill one roach would be. Preferably a bug spray. My roommate and I are both scared of roaches, but she can handle dead ones. So we just need a way to kill it without a lot of fuss (and from a distance).

Thanks!

I bought a used electric motor with a squirrel cage housing and I want to make a dust collector for my wood shop. When I plug the motor in, the motor will hum but will not turn. It will only turn if I spin the cage by hand. Once I do that, it works fine. Is there something I'm missing or did I get stuck with a bad motor?

So my meter base has been switched, the drop from the weather head to the base has been changed as well but the box was never upgraded to 100 amp. A new panel and new wires to the meter base? How about cost?

i've had the same room since i was 9- medicine-pink walls and a stained off-white carpet, with boring furniature. Now i'm 15 and want something a bit more mature, with things that i love as a part of it. Colors i was considering were a soft, springy green, a mint, a light seafoam and a dark turquoise. I'm passionate about theater, acting, and movies. Does anyone have any ideas about color schemes/things to do for my room? [oh, and i'm getting the terrible carpet taken up, there's hardwood floor underneath]

when I signed up for comcast internet and cable I just got the basic everything and my plan was first 3 months internet for 19.99 and free cable...then after the 3 months I'd pay regular price for cable. There was no contract so they said I could cancel whenever. My last bill was for 105 dollars and it looked like they charged me 2 different types of cable but of course when I called they tried to trick me to think that's what I signed up for. Someone said it doesnt matter if you pay the bill cuz its not connected to your credit card or SSN and if you don't pay it will just cut it off for the next month. Is that a good idea--they over charged me my neighbors pay like 70 for the same thing I have

When i flush my toilet my well kicks on/off around four times, I watch the pressure gauge go up to set point(60*) and shut off,and then as the toilet is still calling for water, it drops down to set point(40*).so the gauge seems to drop quickly as soon as the well shuts off. is it that my old galvanized tank is water logged?

I live in an apartment that apparently has some kind of wall blocker thingy that prevents screws from being inserted into the wall itself to install a curtain rod. What kind of rods could I possibly use that don't require a deep hole to be put into the wall, or possibly no holes at all?
And no - I am opting to NOT take the thumbtack/pushpin route :)

On countless occations I have heard people comment on this subject. People say that stay at home mothers are just looking for an excuse not to have "real" jobs. I for one believe that being a stay at home mom would have to be one of the hardest jobs ever. And if you have very young children who are not yet in school-even harder! I am very young, I don't have children, and I am still in school. But in the bad weather and school being cancled, I have stayed at home, and my parents have gone to work. Well, I have been cleaning for my mother, Ladies and gentleman let me tell you-the cleaning never stops! You can clean til your blue in the face and there will always be more! And imagine having children (I feel for you woman with kids-bless your souls) I just feel that stay-at-home-mothers need to stop getting talked about and start getting worshiped! It's tough-and if you deep clean-WOW! It goes on for days! Mommies-Keep up the good work and god help you-cause your gonna need it!Who agrees?

Do you call it OCD? Anyways, I think I have that disorder. I wash my hands for hours, and I wash it thousand times a day. I'm so addicted to washing my hands. I tried to cut down washing my hands. But I just can't. I feel like I have to wash my hands. There are germs everywhere.

Today I've found two black spiders in my home. They have no markings on them and they aren't hairy. I don't think they are black widows. They are kind of small about a 1/4 of an inch maybe slightly bigger.

I am wanting to make an opening in a wall between my kitchen and livingroom, with the opening in the wall being 5' x 2 1/2'. Not sure if the wall is load bearing or not. How can I find this out? If load bearing, is the size I want to make ok or does it need some sort of support when I cut it? Whats the easiest way to go about this project? Was going to leave about 3' from each side of the opening and about 42' from the floor. Any suggestions?
