I live in a dorm, and my bed is directly against my roommates desk. It is literally within 6 inches of his desk. So, when I go to bed, he is at his desk, typing and doing homework, and this involves lights being on. I am an early riser, as I exercise in the morning before class, so I go to bed about 2 to 3 hours earlier than him every night. The light on his desk is a flourescent light, so it is very bright. I've talked to him about it, but we really can't do anything about him moving the desk, because the dorm room is small. I actually have another roomate, so you can imagine 3 people in the azie of a room meant for one person. So, my mom was thinking that maybe I could put a sheet between my bed and his desk, but I can't nail anything into the ceiling. Ideas? I would like to completely block his desk from my bed....

Here are my (bad) ideas. Maybe they'll curn some better ones.

a) 2 science fair boards taped together going up to the celing.
b) sheets

Thats about it. HELP!!!!

My furnace was leaking the other day, with what I thought was water. Now that it's drying however, it's seems to be a burnt orange color. Any idea on what it was that was leaking??

i have a rubber strip under my garage door that is suppose to keep water from getting in, but it still does. The door is on a garage door opener and seems to be real tight to the floor. But water still gets in and freezes. I know how to get it unfroze., I've learned but would like to eliminate the problem. Any suggestions?

put up thousands of crappy outside ones are regretting it now I bet.
1, they looked shite anyway
2, It just showed all your neighbours what knobs you are
3, you will have to spend 2 hours taking the tacky crap down.
4, you did your bit of environmental damage, well done.

Myself I have one small cheap fake tree, I like to think its practical and unassuming, unlike you people mentioned above, who seem to use the amount of Christmas lights you put up as an extention to your very small peni.
I thank you, I feel better now.

I've got the over the door shoe racks, over the door ironing boards, and canned foods rack over the pantry door. But I need to find out what to do with my tons of genealogy, family stories, and pictures. For the most part it has been stored on Ancestry.com, and cdrw. I'm looking for new ideas.

I heard there was a place in Des Moines, IA that has a hybrid Kumquat (Dwarf) tree that bears fruit even in the cold. Granted the plant is left indoors but is hardy year round. Does anyone know where I can get one?

I want to build a subfloor and tile over a hole in my house. It used to be a fountain, but i have since taken it out, with a remaining hole and needs to be tiled. The hole is concrete. Should i build a subfloor platform, or just fill in with dirt, sand or more concrete to put the tile on top of? thanks.

I have water coming in from the foundation. My drain pipes are extending away from the house. I have no plants around the exterior foundation, would like ideas for that too(for spring). I do have large oak trees by sidewalk, if they're the culprit how can I have them removed cheap.
