how do i make over my room without too much hassle? ideas please!!!

I have a table-top fan in my room.
Each time I use it after a while, it will cause the circuit breaker to cut the power in the whole house.
It usually trips in the early morning around 7am.
Recently, it trips more often and sometimes even after 30 minutes of using it at night.
Each time, I will need to unplug the fan socket and go to the living room to switch back on the "Fuis" at the main circuit box.
I have tried using the fan in the living room to check if the problem lies in the fan or the socket in my room. And I noted that the power still cuts off when i use the fan in the living room or kitchen or other rooms.
Instead of throwing the fan away, is there any way that I can change something in the fan so that I can still use it?
Thank you very much.

I live in a house where the rule is - whoever cooks gets out of the cleaning up. The problem is though - if I cook - I have a sink ful of hot water and I wash up as I go. I get rid of any rubbish (peelings, empty cans, packets etc. etc), sweep the floor and wipe down the stove top and benches - usually before I serve dinner. The kitchen is left clean and tidy with only one or two pots to wash - which are left soaking in the sink and the dishwasher to load. Excuse me for a sec while I just polish my halo......!!!Unfortunately - the other cook in my house is a sloppy cook. It means that on the nights I cook - he gets to enjoy a good meal and hardly any cleaning up. If he cooks - he uses every single spoon, kitchen implement, pot, knife etc. in the kitchen. Piles of vegetable peels are left all over the bench, along with packets, spice jars, sauce bottles, cannisters, etc. etc. The stove top is always filthy - as are the benches...splattered in grease and sauce. I know many people who cook like this - including my sister. Is it reasonable to change the rule to whoever cooks - also cleans up??? How can I enjoy my meal when he cooks - when I know there is a mountain of mess to clean up when I'm finished eating???

Have been told to leave radiators (9 of) on continuously,as cheap with all radiators on,don,t switch off when going out,and compare to two pans of water, one large one small, dearer to heat larger amount of water than smaller. The latter seems to make sense ..............and of course there is then the temperature to consider

I've done drywall for about 7 years now off and on. I've been curious about plaster and how much it differs from finishing gypsum board (drywall). I saw some plasterers on "This Old House" show doing this and caught my attention. From what I've seen, the finishers coat the entire wall and hardly ever need sanding. Can anybody tell me whats involved in plastering? Do they tape joints, what is backing material, how many coats of what, and is it easier or harder to do than modern drywall techniques? Any cons of plaster?
