A new bedspread and curtains will give you a quick new look. Also take a look at your wall hangings and see if there's something you can do to change them to go with the new bedspread.

A wallpaper border around the room at either a 3 foot level or at e ceiling adds quite a bit. If the room needs painting - get a mellow color that compliments the colors in the bed spread and curtains so it doesn't overpower them. If painting is a big hassle to you (it is to me sometime), and the paint is in good shape, pick the other colors to match the existing paint.

Also - a nice floor vase with flowers and greenery help liven up a room and add a nice touch.

Have fun.

For additional details: I assume you're on a very limited budget :-)

To de-clutter: This is the hardest thing to do at times Take look around the room and what goes with what you want your room to look like and keep it. Box up everything you haven't used in a year. If there are special items or mementos you want to keep - try to fit them in or put them in a separate box to store and put in the back of your closet. Rearrange things to space them out more and give you a more open look.

Purple and zebra stripes are a great look. Mirrors also help open up a room, so you can place your dresser mirror so it maximizes the look of the room when you walk in. If you want purple walls, go with complimentary colors - you can go with zebra, or spice it up and throw in some lime green and orange highlights if you're bold. The big thing to think about is what YOU like.

look on a 'freecyle' website for stuff that people are giving away or go to your local charity shop / salvage yard for ideas or cheap stuff. (We went to a friends yeaterday and she had the most beautiful fabric as a tablecloth - it was a sari she'd got from a charity shop but looked like a really expensive opulent table covering.)Your local newspaper may have some good stuff in that people are getting rid off after the holiday season.
You could also move the furniture around and just change the basics - paint one wall a different colour and get some cheap material to use if you can't afford new soft furnishings. have fun!

If you want to make over your room in brilliant way you have to make use of colors. As you are a girl you can opt for pink. You can first select the theme. You can use one color and its different themes or you can use combination of two colors. I would like to suggest you some nice combos:
1)orange and mango (yellow) color
2)orange or dark green
3)red and yellow
4)shades of blue
5)cream and white
6)light pink and white

After you select the color scheme, you have to focus on some major things in the rooms which may include: curtains, bed sheets, pillow covers, lamp sheds, wallpaper or paint, showpieces, photo frames, etc. all these room accessories and paints should follow your color scheme.
So good luck and get going……..
