Well, if you are talking about "A" cold, then I suggest you drink plenty of fluids. Hot tea with honey is especially soothing. Take cough medicine if needed, throat lozenges, or cough drops will help sooth a scratchy, sore throat. Get plenty of rest. Tylenol or Ibuprophen for fever and/or achiness, and taking zinc is supposed to lessen the length of time you are sick. Oh, and taking "Day Quill" will help with your symptoms...
However, if you are talking about "The" cold, then turn up the heater, dress warmly, and snuggle under a warm blanket, also a nice hot drink will help to warm you up as well. Everything mentioned here, is also good to help make you feel better if you "have" a cold. Either way, I hope this helps!

Fill the tub with about two inches of normal temp water. Sit in the tub and turn the cold water off and fill the rest of the way with pure hot water or as hot as you can possibly stand it. Soak for about an hour. When you get out, take a shot of whiskey or other strong alcohol mixed with honey. Go to bed and sleep like you've never slept before. Flush your system with water (drink till ya float). This regimen will kill any virus in your system. It works everytime for me!

Sleep. And plenty of it. If you don't take multi-vitamins, start.
