Our dogs sleep in the laundry room at night. One of them urinated, and it must have gotten under the washer or dryer somehow. I pulled out the washer and dryer this weekend and mopped with Lysol and bleach water and opened the window. It smelled better for a while. This morning when I went in there (the dogs didn't sleep in there last night), it smelled like urine again. What can I do? The lenolium was not discolored like it had soaked in. Is it possible it got under the baseboard?

I have a friend who has a home that has copper plumbing. The residence was built in 1988, and she was told by a neighbor that copper plumbing is bad and has to be removed/replaced in order to keep the value of the home for resale. This doesn't seem to make sense and the home DOES NOT have any plumbing issues to date. The neighbor cautioned that copper plumbing can burst. Is there any ring of truth to this or is the neighbor thinking of something else. A home built in 1988 doesn't seem that old to me.
Please help. All answers are welcome. Thanks.

The house now sticks out like a sore thumb on our block, and could affect the resale value of our home. Should I leave an anonymous note? Start a petition?

ok guys ive had a couple of posts but got messy. Details -

hot water seems to be ok but my heating isnt working. upstairs radiators are "warm" , downstairs cold. its an old boiler 15-20 years.

what ive done -

-ive checked the expansion tank in loft and filled it to just below the overflow pipe(some people tell me this ok other said should only be half full
-bleed all radiators
-checked that valve connected to expantion tank is at full on.

other info -

- on same pipe as expansion tank valve is a tap head, unsure if i should so anything with this???
-boiler is sounding like its doing something but the pilot light comes on for about 10 secs, during this boiler getts louder and you hear gushing water in pipes, then goes off for about 1-2min, then this cycle continues to happen and im not sure if this is relevent.
- ive been advised to check pump but idea where this is or what to do with it.

Soo all ideas and suggestions welcome as its freezing in here :o

I know this is partially personal preference, but we have a "room" in an antique/coop mall which is now a worn white, we can paint it as long as the color is fairly neutral. I think there is research about colors and moods, such as red in a dining room, it makes you hungary. What is warm and inviting that will help people to enter and "shop" in our "room"?

My 7 month of basset hound pulled up the edge of the carpet where it is rolled under and tacked from where it meets with the laminate floor. She also shredded the little carpet fibers about an inch deep in one spot, so I can't just tack it under. I was going to trim it all the same, but when I started looking at it, there won't be enough carpet left to reach the edge of the laminate flooring. Is there something I can buy that will just go ontop of both edges to cover it up and be durable? This is by my front door.

Also...would anyone like a basset hound, free to a good home. Loves eating carpet and shoes. Just kidding!

The downstairs heating unit is located in the garage, if we spray paint something or smoke a cigarette in the garage, anything... the whole house smells like it. I've tried taping up openings in the fresh air inlet, is this problem characteristic of the setup, or can it be fixed? We're renting and new to the house, and any advice would be greatly appreciated... thanks in advance.

I've noticed a few fruit flies around my plants, and I was wondering if they eat the leaves/flowers, and if they generally damage plants.
