So what is the question?
If he was there as a roomie and had a key to the Apt. there isn't anything you can do.
Depending on what was installed and if it can be removed without damage and you don't want it in your apt.-have him remove it.
If he fails to remove it after 30 days after notice,it is abondoned property and it becomes yours if he still doesn't remove it if you make several attempts to have him remove it.
Make the request in writting and keep a copy of each letter for legal purposes.
