I had a pain earlier in my tooth when I was eating dessert at dinner time and I went to look at it in the mirror. I don't really look at my teeth much so I don't know how long it's been like this, but on practically ALL of my back teeth it kind of looks like after you've eaten chocolate when it gets stuck in the grooves?? And the one that was hurting earlier looks a bit worse than the others, the brownish area is kind of spread out of the grooves of the tooth onto the surface.

I haven't been to the dentist in a few years which is bad, I know, but I've never had any cavities before and I brush my teeth every day. Does it sound like I have cavities now? I guess the one that hurts definitely is, but what about the others that don't hurt, but look like they have chocolate stuck in them?

I'm really worried cos I've never had any fillings or anything before, does it hurt? And what do they do? And I've heard it's hard to get an NHS dentist, but can't afford to go private!!

I am barely making ends meet so I don't know how I'll be able to afford another bill. I have always had problems with this tooth. I had braces as a teenager and after they were taken off, this tooth seemed to move back a little and I learned not to chew on that side of my mouth because it hurt to bite down. I was biting into a sandwich today and the bottom of this tooth broke off. Like I said, I used to go to the dentist all the time, it seemed like every time I went they made an excuse to give me another xray or whatever. I cannot afford the costs they will pile on me. If it was any other tooth further back in my mouth I would just get it pulled but I work as a waitress in a nice restaurant and I need to look presentable. I am so frustrated, I can never get ahead. I live in Wisconsin, if anyone knows how I can find cheap or free dental care...

My 6 year-old is about to lose is second tooth.....so I thought. His two front bottom teeth were loose at the same time, and one of them fell out over a month ago, but the other one is still hanging on. The new tooth is coming through behind it (somewhat sideways, too). I've promised him I won't pull it & we work with it & wiggle it just about every day. It's VERY loose, it can even move from side to side, but because the new tooth is coming in behind it, we can't wiggle it in THAT direction, which normally I think would be just what it needs to finally let go. What are the chances that this could damage his new tooth trying to come in?

I had braces maybe four years ago and i haven't worn my retainer regularly since. Actually, I wore it the way i was supposed to for a year and then i just stopped. My original problem was that i had a huge gap in my front teeth. I have just now noticed that that gap is slowly returning! so i tried to wear my retainer again. it hasn't hurt so far but tha's probably because i can't get it to go up all the way, if you know what imean. for one thing, the little gap in my bakc teeth when the hooks used to sit aren't there anymore.

so i guess what i'm asking is what should i do? i've been wearing my retainer half up all day today but i'm worried that if i keep doing that my teeth are going to fall out or something, they won't will they? anyway, is there anything i can do short of going back to the orthodontist? thanks!

I have mild gingivitis in my gums and i find it quite painful. As soon as I got it, I started flossing and brushing continuously, how long should I wait before going to the dentist/hygienist again (went the other day) and is the process of removing inflammation painful?

Thanks

Conor

Hi world! I really have a major problem with my breath. It stinks! I brush my teeth many times a day. I use mouthwash and even do dental floss yet there is still that stench, that smell...I feel so embarassed while talking to other people. What should I do? I think it's my throat where the smelll comes from? What's the solution?

My teeth moved around pretty quick..so I only had braces for 1 year...
also I had retainers..but in the first place..they didn't fit me very well..and I didn't tell anyone...

its been 3 years from then..and my teeth is still straight..but should I still worry about them getting my teeth misplaced??

I had braces because my jaw was small so not all could fit...so I had two taken out and thats it... and I had the bottom one pushed back a little bit...

But I'm still worried..because people are telling me to get new retainers..but I don't know how much it is and the trouble I'm going to go through...
I live in Australia as well...

Basically, if you eat things with mustard in every day, i.e. ham and mustard sandwich, then can it make your teeth go yellow?

I want to use whitening strips but I've heard your gums can become sensitive to tea (I won't give up my tea). Is it true for all whitening strips?
