I just had a silver filling done on a molar over 4 hours ago and now it hurts WAY worse than it did before! It is 10 times as sensitive to cold, too! Is this normal and what do I do about it?

The office manager at my dentist tried to write a recommended dental rinse for $45 and a 3 month cleaning for $95 (neither are covered by my insurance) in the necessary procedures section of my charge form. In my opinion, that's a recommendation, not a requirement, right? What other items has your dental office tried to hard sell you on?

I have front veneers, and I know you can whiten them, but I think since one of my front teeth is natuarally darker then the other onw, it makes the veneer look darker. Could I whiten the back of my tooth to make it shine through whiter?

My dentist recommended a bone graft for when I have my wisdom teeth removed, but the pics they showed me only had examples of how it helped when you have teeth on both sides of where the bone graft would be. This will be in the very back of my mouth on the bottom. What's the benefit to me?

My gums are swollen, and my tooth hurts. Can somebody give me some remedies for this? I have brushed the area numerous times, rinsed with saltwater, Listerine, and hydrogen peroxide, applied heat, and used medicine, all which didn't help.

So any home remedies would be appriciated!

I was yawning and i guess i yawned hard enough for my mouth to open wide and when i did, i felt pain under my jaw. It was really weird cause i went to feel under and it felt as if something in between my jaw just pushed downward. After a while it was normal but now I'm afraid something bad really happened. Any ideas?

A friend told me that, and I thought she was full of it. She'd heard it when she was young. Is it a myth?

If it's true, what makes that happen?

I am 27 years old and I just got braces last Friday. I got the ones that match your teeth color that I paid an extra $500 for. The thing is that the white part that goes glued to my teeth is made of plastic thats very jagged. My lips have been in pain since it rubs against my lips. I have been using a crazy amount of wax and I can't imagine putting wax on my teeth every single day. It's very time consuming and it makes me look like I got duck lips.

Ive had the braces on for like 6 days now and my lips hurt more than ever and also my front teeth really hurt and feel very sore.

The questions I have are:

-Will this burning pain on the inside of my lips and mouth go away? Will my lips actually get used to them?

-Also my front teeth are very sore. Can't bite anything and it even hurts to brush them. This normal? If so how long will this last?

My dentist in my old town wrote me a note to take to another dentist to have my wisdom teeth removed.

How do I find a dentist in my new city that can remove my wisdom teeth?

I went to the dentist yesterday morning and had 3 fillings. I don't know if this is normal or not...it feels like they put too much of the filling stuff in my tooth. When I bite down, it feels like the teeth that were filled are longer than the others. Is this normal? Do I just have to get used to the feeling of the fillings? I've had fillings before, but it's been a long time. What do you think?

As a teen, I did a bit, then no interest for 30 yrs or so. Now for the past 3 months, I have to chew on ice! I wake up & chew, during the day I take two cups to work to chew, then when I get home, I lug down another 32 ounces of ice. Why? It is such a craving! This is craziness!

IF you just got a tooth extracted.. and the dentist had to sew that area up. Would you be able to go to the gym such as lift weights or run a few days after? Someone told me that heavy activity could make it bleed?
