I have never bothered before but wonder whether it's too late to get braces fitted by NHS, I am 40 and one tooth kind of crosses over another, not much but if it wasn't like that my teeth would be perfect. How long do you wear braces for and is it too late at my age. Thanks

I've seen commercials for this new listerine mouthwash that stains the plaque on your teeth blue, so that you can see where the plaque is. The commercial seems to be aimed at kids' dental health. Has anyone tried it yet?

My son needs to get braces. He has bucked front teeth. I was wondering about the pros and cons of braces versus Invisalign? I've never worn braces myself, so I don't know what they're like. Have any of you tried Invisalign and do they work as well as braces, in your opinion? Anyone tried them with bucked teeth? What about the cost difference? How much did you pay for your braces or Invisalign? Thanks.

I have a front tooth that is a crown. I guess there wasn't a whole lot of natural tooth structure left to glue it to, but it was doing OK until I started having to wear a TAP appliance at night to stop my snoring. The torque of the appliance keeps working my crown loose, and I keep having to get it re-cemented about every 6 months... Anyway, the crown is loose again, so I decided to stop wearing the appliance altogether, and just sleep in separate rooms :-(

So my question is this - IF (and it'a big "if") the dentist tells me that she can't recement the crown anymore...that it just won't hold... I know I have two options: A three-tooth crown-bridge combo, OR a dental implant. Which is cheaper, and which is more durable?

I asked this question already, but didn't get enough answers, I'm having a problem with my retainer, I had my braces removed 2 days ago, and I'm supposed to wear the bottom retainer (the top one is being redone), when I wore at the dentist it dind't bother me much, except that I couldn't bite, but she said it was normal, when I got home and from there on, it started to hurt me soooooooooo bad, yesterday I couldnt even wear it, my gums are sort of dark red and it's bleeding at times, and the problem is, I can only talk to my dentist in 2 weeks, she's out of the office (I hate that)...what should I do? should I wear it anyway???? even though I can't even THINK of touching the top teeth on the bottom, otherwise it'll push into my gum and hurt like **** (sorry, but that's how I feel)...or should I wait the 2 weeks without the retainer?

PLEASE ANSWER....I have no dentist available!

For the last 2 weeks I've been taking Avelox 400 qd x 14 days and I noticed that I had dry lips and a whitish film on my lower lip of the mouth. I checked my mouth for thrush but I have none in my oral cavity. Does anyone know what this is?

I don't seem to notice a difference between a regular toothbrush and the one I use now. Does anyone know?

Has anyone ever gotten sick from Crest Whitestrips? I have been using them for about 4 days now, and have started having lightheadedness and dizzy spells. Any idea if they could be related? I have also been sick, but those symptoms have gone away.

I really dislike going to the dentist as my teeth are sensitive and even with an injection I always feel the drilling for a filling etc. I always brush really well and take care of my teeth but I still manage to get a build-up of Tartar that has to be scraped off by the Hygenist and although I can cope with the powered tools she uses on most of my teeth she has to do some of them by hand because of my sensitivity. Why does the Tartar happen? What can I do to avoid it? And why are my teeth so sensitive?

im calling to make an appointment with my dentist, to get my teeth cleaned. i have 1 tooth in the front on the bottom, that has a receding gum line, and has some plaque build up or whatever on it. im not sure what you call it. ive never had even so much as a cavity or any other work besides cleaning. i need to know what i should tell them is wrong with my tooth when i call to set up the appointment so i can have it taken care of when im there, and not need to make a 2nd appointment. is there a name for this???

My filling in one of my back teeth has fell out and now a bit of the tooth has broken off, so looks kinda like a crater with a bit of the outside broken off. Would it be ok to just leave it or will it get infected etc?

when i was brushing my babies teeth i noticed in the back of her two bottom teeth there are two lines and they are black. She has been putting things in her mouth like a blanket and then closing her mouth over it and pulling it out of her mouth.
