I constantly get canker sores a few at a time and the last for weeks, and then I get more right when the others are healing. I've been to my doctor and all he could tell me was to put cinnamon on it. The dentist I go to didn't know the difference between a cold sore and a canker sore and tried to give me cold sore medicine for them. I have suffered from these my whole life and am miserable. All of the over the counter medicines I buy don't even last an hour. I have taken ample doses of Lysine which is said to help, but I haven't noticed a difference. Is there an anti-biotic that anyone knows of? Please help...you name it...I've tried it.

I NEED HELP FAST. I haven't talked to me dentist yet about my all of a sudden fear I'm too scared to. I dont want to cry or have a panic attack I did once and it wasn't pretty. Just the thought of me having to have my wisdome teeth pulled is scary to me. I have only had normal things done such as fillings and cleanings as well as x-rays. Even having x-rays done makes me tense I noticed the last time I went not to long ago. I dont want my mom to come with me either (inside the room) what can I do? I dont' want to tell her myself. I'm so scared to get and injection of the needle because it's my mouth.I dont wnat laughing gas. Is there a way that maybe he can inject me, but slowly and give me a small dose just to see? Maybe if I need more he can add to that? Please help and give me advice. My friend did this behavior management stuff and she said it helped her alot. What do you think and the whole mouth prop thing does it hurt? How do I keep my mouth relaxed? I dont want to be sleep.

I have to go to the dentist for a cleaning and to get my wisdom teeth pulled. I have NEVER had work on this order done so I'm so freaked out. I'm somewhat of a tough girl and telling me how I feel is out of the picture. I dont want the dentist to think I"m a baby so I dont want to die and have a panic attack which I think is going to happen. I feel like canceling the appt. due to being afraid.

I have never gave a dentist trouble before so he doesn't know that I have this all of a sudden fear. Was I afraid all along and didn't know it? What can he do for me? I don't want to get any injections, but that's because I'm scared, I'm not scared of needles until it comes to my mouth. I have only recieved cleanings and x-rays and one filling when I was younger. I remember them hurting and I made up in my mind never again.

I dont want laughing gas or dental behavior treatment either so what can I do? Please help me especially if your in the dental field. I need all the advice I can get.

I finally broke down and started the process for a dental night guard. They kept telling me to get one but the price ($265 for soft) kept me from getting it. After going for cleanings every 3 months etc I figured maybe I should get one. I had bought one from the local drug store for about $30 -you micro wave it and then put into cold water but when trying to mold it I made a hole with my molars. So I fugured it was time. However when I went to get the mold made I was really surprised at how hard the stuff got, how it felt like it was going down my throat and would choak me. Then when they went to put it off it was like really yanking and I thought my teeth would come out with it, and I would lose my crown, that I already had had an Apico on. My kids had these molds made for their braces, now I wonder how I could have subjected my kids to this! So has anyone has a bad experience with teeth falling out, choaking or anything else?

Hi. In the past 2 months I have had about 13 composite restorations done on the frontsides of my teeth due to over vigorous brushing, teeth grinding and have recessed my gumline and worn away my enamel on my teeth. My teeth are severely sensitive now. I had a filling placed on the backside of tooth #7 due to a cavity on Jan 24 and that tooth is bothering me now, sensations in my front teeth and dull aches/pains daily. I'm already now using sensodyne toothpaste. What could be causing this?

Before Christmas, I had an amalgam removed due to deterioration. There was decay underneath and it was drilled away and filled with compositve. Thereafter, I had slight pain only when eating crunchy foods. It did seem to get better or perhaps, I just got used to it. Now, they have removed it, put in a temporary filling, and are going to fill it again next week if I don't have any pain. If I do have pain, they are considering a root canal. Since the pain is minimal, are there other tests to determine if a root canal is necessary? Or, is pain the only factor? I hate to go that route if it's not necessary. But, if it is, I would like to have it taken care of now while I have dental insurance as well as a temporary filling. Can any dentists advise me about what the determining factors for a root canal are? And, do you recommend another composite or amalgam for my lower molar? Thanks so much for any advise! =)

I have been reading the Sunday newspaper today (The People) and it gives a disturbing report on the state of the NHS

Operations being cancelled
Wards being closed
Long waiting times for operations/seeing a specialist

The list goes on, what are the views of other people to put the NHS back in order.

My feelings are we are having to many people entering the country and we seem to be treating half the worlds population on the NHS.

Hi, I have had a bad toothache in my of my bottom back teeth for a few days now. I've had a temporary filling in it for a few months, but it was starting to break up which caused the pain.

Its a tooth I've had trouble with on/off for years. I went to the emergency dentist today to see if she could take it out. She numbed everywhere up, made me wait in reception for 20 mins then called me back in. She tested it too see if it was numbed and it hurt a little, so she did it again. Then she tried again and all pain was gone.

Next the part where they try wobbling the tooth backwards and forwards to make it looser. I got a terrible pain, and she decided she couldnt do it, but I felt something crack.

She then took the old temporary filling out, and replaced it with a new one.
Trouble is its hurting quite badly right now.

What can I do to get rid of the pain, and why would it hurt after being numbed up? And will it always be like this when I try to get it out.
