If you have periodontal disease and need to see a periodontist they will numb you up one side at a time and do some deep cleaning under the gums. It may take about two visits and though you won't feel it while being done, you may be sore once the numbness wears off. (Maybe right side upper and lower first visit and left side upper and lower the second visit) Prices are probably about $200-$400 dollars per quad which is $400-$800 per visit depending on the doctor and wear you live.

you might need a deep cleaning of the gums (scaling). in mexico it is cheaper, like $55 per quadrant (there are 4), but don't know what it costs in the states. beyond that, i recommend amosan (available at most drug stores), neydent toothpaste and an ionic toothbrush.
