I finally broke down and started the process for a dental night guard. They kept telling me to get one but the price ($265 for soft) kept me from getting it. After going for cleanings every 3 months etc I figured maybe I should get one. I had bought one from the local drug store for about $30 -you micro wave it and then put into cold water but when trying to mold it I made a hole with my molars. So I fugured it was time. However when I went to get the mold made I was really surprised at how hard the stuff got, how it felt like it was going down my throat and would choak me. Then when they went to put it off it was like really yanking and I thought my teeth would come out with it, and I would lose my crown, that I already had had an Apico on. My kids had these molds made for their braces, now I wonder how I could have subjected my kids to this! So has anyone has a bad experience with teeth falling out, choaking or anything else?

what's a flipper tooth? (he's no longer a seal, suitable?) because he broke the tooth, he won't be able to make an particularly reliable mould. the perfect fabric is plaster of paris - reachable who's conscious the position. you mixture the stuff with water until eventually it truly is about the consistency of, properly, plaster, load up the tray (purchase one among those used for tooth whitening gels), and push it into position hostile to the (top?) jaw. enable it set a lengthy time period and pull it. the stuff will favor to run down the again of his throat, causing him to gag, yet what the heck. a more suitable positive answer is to get a activity and keep up for genuine dental artwork. if one has a activity, there are banks that lend one funds for own emergencies. this easily qualifies. if no activity, no activity in operating and drug/alcohol issues, his tooth are besides the undeniable fact that the top of the iceberg.

The mold does become pretty tough, but you'd be surprised at how tough your teeth are, too. I once had this done at the dentist and I thought for sure I was going to choke and/or my teeth would get pulled out but once that thing popped out of my mouth, I was fine.

I have been a dental assistant for over 7 years. We have taken many impressions and I have never taken a tooth out, and trust me, we have patients with some pretty loose teeth sometimes. It isn't comfortable because it does feel like you are choking, but it's all very safe.
